any flight attendants out there?

Did you try a search on "flight attendant"? There are a couple around, one posted on SSI here a few months ago and I think there may be contributors on the lymphedema threads but they might not be looking here. You will probably have to send some private messages to get their attention. I was in a different field and 'retired' early. 

Perhaps your company has some earth bound jobs that would be possibilities for you, if flying becomes too much. Lots of people make career changes unrelated to health issues which means you don't have to divulge private concerns. It's still a loss and big adjustment so be easy on yourself. Hopefully you will get FMLA after surgery.

I worked as ground staff for United Airlines, here, in Australia, before my DX and I have spoken to a number of Airline staff, including Flight Attendants, here on the boards, in the past 2 years.

OK, one is exbrnxgrl who is an ex Pan Am flight attendant and a very regular poster here, she a fantastic lady and I am sure she would have information that may help you. I am pretty sure she will know of others here, that may still be flying too.
