New Lotion Being Tested For Radiation Dermatitis

Hello everyone.

For those who are undergoing radiation therapy as part of breast cancer treatment, there is now a new study underway to test a prescription for the treatment of Radiation Dermatitis, otherwise known as "Radiation Burns." To my knowledge, right now there is no prescribed medication for RadDerm -- doctors usually suggest aloe as an over-the-counter remedy. Some patients say that aloe works great, while others say that it offers really brief relief from the symptoms.

This new lotion is part of an experimental therapy that is based on a novel anti-inflammatory. You can read about it and ask for more information here.

From what I've heard, the only people who are eligible to participate in the study are breast cancer patients. But I guess eventually other cancer types that are treated using radiation will be tried as well.

Does anyone else know of prescription, FDA-approved RadDerm treatments? I don't think that there are any as far as I know.
