glad all is still well with you mikesgirl!
Char, thanks for the comment in my hair. Im kind if like a little white poodle now but that's ok! I realized that big silver earrings look good with white hair so I'm buying ore!
This board had been so quiet....shhhhh everyone is just out living their lives
Beautiful day here in central ny. Went for a run this morning now in backyard by just hanging out. I don't think you can really tell but the flowers are so vibrant and the sky as blue as can be
-
This is the longest I've been off the board in ages! I tried to catch up, apologies if I've missed something. I'm quicker on FB!
I have been totally ignoring BC for the past few weeks. It's been awesome. Our vacation to the adirondacks was amazing. The air, lake, everything is so clean and crisp there. Hiking, kayaking, swimming - my girls went waterskiing & horseback riding for the first time. So relaxing. I truly feel energized and ready to start putting BC behind me. Too bad I need to get an Herceptin infusion this week (and I get it in the same room, same chairs, same nurses, etc as chemo, surrounded by others getting the poison).
I'm not on Tamoxifen yet, and I don't have an appointment with MO till September. I'm glad for the break - she won't prescribe till I see her. I'm happy about it. Starting to feel more normal & don't want a whole new world of SEs!
So jealous, Lisa & all others, of your 1 1/2 inches of hair. I've still got less than an inch. And my eyebrows are VERY thin. But I'm ditching the wig. After 2.5 weeks of vacay not wearing it, I just can NOT put the thing back on my head. I refuse!!! Coworkers will be doing a double-take on Monday
.
-
aww oranje, you were up in my neck of the woods. The Adirondacks are beautiful, right in my backyard almost. Old forge is 1 hr north of my house. Glad your feeling well! My eyebrows are still thin, I think have gotten thinner but filling in works well enough
-
O M GEEEEEEEE ... I am ready to rip my armpit off !!! the BC side where the rads were done, is anyone else experiencing extreme itch !!??
-
I am so happy to hear i'm not the only one with the ITCH!!!!!!! My itch goes from my armpit to my chest.....drives me freakin nuts! I put some cortisone cream on my chest and that has seemed to help some.
I have a great update for anybody that wants to know........MY ASS IS FINALLY BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Almost 8 months to the day of when it all went to hell, 2 surgeries later, it finally feels like its almost 100% normal again. Thank the Lord!!! I also found out I get my port out on Oct 13th....can't wait because that itches too!!!
Love to keep hearing about every great post lately.....makes my heart happy!! You are all the bravest, strongest women I know.
Hope you have had a blessed weekend!
Michelle
-
kimie, no itch here but maybe it's from going back to your usual deodorant and causing a lot of dryness, or maybe armpit hair trying to grow back or excess sweating. Try the hydrocortisone cream. And I think I've asked you this before, but I see you are taking tamoxifen, I assume it's because you are a slight % er+.
-
Lisa - I am trying to pinpoint the itch, havent changed deodorant, I use the best deodorant in the world..hahaha that is what its called, its fabulous and free of all things nasty ... check it out.
Tamoxifen yes just a slightly positive er receptor so they thought it was worth a shot.
still ready to rip my first layer of armpit skin off... there is no hair there. I am a faithful waxer and it comes in very sparse.
-
Hi ladies,
Glad to see everyone is doing well! Going for my 3 month f/up with MO tomorrow. Surprisingly, not nervous. Actually looking forward to her telling me everything is fine!:). Mammo on Friday, then RO appt next wk and BS appt next week. Will be glad when they are done.
Whoever is itching, try corn starch baby powder...it seems to help some. May be your skin healing.
Have a great week everyone!!!

I feel like I’ve been out of the loop forever.Trying to catch up on reading.I just returned from my trip to Northern
California.I drank lots of wine!! Remember
when I started planning it in January? It was amazing! I thought that it would be an emotional trip but it wasn’t.I didn’t even think of cancer!!! The only
time I did was the one night my neuropathy in my hands was bothering me and
kept me awake. That just pissed me off.Lisa, sorry you had an emotional time.My feet still bother me too. They got a lot better at first but have
stayed at the still hurt but I can still do everything as long as I get sit
breaks….grrrrr! My hips and knees still ache but seem to be improving.I did spin class this morning and it was way
easier on my joints then my usual walking. My MO told me to be patient…yeah right! She also mentioned a rheumatoid Doc if it doesn’t.I don’t think it’s rheumatoid.Too many of us are suffering from it and I
can’t believe we got rheumatoid arthritis at the same time and all during
chemo! I hope they get you in for PET and MRI this week.Michelle,I love the
scale story.That’s hilarious.Yay on the ASS!!!!Chicopeach,I love
the survival stories too! I hate when people think it’s ok to tell us horror
stories.Robin, glad only seroma.
Kimie, Yeah on the weight loss! And I have a bit of itch over my scar from
the rads.Jbokland.Is today
the last one!!!!Holli, I’m happy that the meds are working and your
breathing better.Charusa, easy peasy you got this.It will be over before you know it.
-
Yep, last one!!!!
-
nice to hear from you djj. Ya prob not rheumatoid but some kind of inflammatory something or other. My mo said rheumatologist would be better at recommending or diagnosing if it's really something than her so I'll go for consult.
Got authorization for MRI but not PET. Insur said not for stage 1. But ok for bone scan. Will do bone scan on fri. And MRI next wed. If something comes up on those of concern will then be able to do PET I guess. Still worried about R breast (grrrr), upper back and neck pain and of course the feet, hip and knee pains. I also do what I want but just feel it and have to take sit breaks too or just bending forward to relieve pain and ache in upper back when walking or jogging a ways seems to help. Want to start curcumin which is supposed to help with inflammation. TC to integrative doc about this and they are supposed to call me back. Maybe that will help some of us? Have done some research but need to look up more. Anyone else? Started on metformin a diabetic med but I'm thinking of it like tamoxifen for us TN gals.
-
Oh just saw...oh yea jbokland!! Congratulations!
-
DJJ glad you had a good trip, hopefully you were there before the big earthquake.
JB, big congratulations on finishing up, you look great.
Michelle, so glad your Ass is finally better. Makes sitting and sh**ting so much better I am sure.
Lisa- I have heard a lot of MOs are using metformin now for TN BC even if not diabetic since it does not cause hypoglycemia. good luck on your MRI and bone scan.
hope everyone is getting back to a more normal lifestyle. I was just at a picnic potluck dinner with our local BC support group. Nice to talk to survivors that are 10-30 years out. One gal, stage 3 with about the same number of + LN as I had and she is celebrating 11 years NED
-
Lisa....Your pool area is AWESOME!Your hair looks great too!!!
-
I am so sorry Michelle but I am lmbo....reading all the posts then seeing yours...so glad your ass is better...it is just the way you said it that has me laughing but I know you went through pure hell all these months and I don't know how you handled that plus chemo....but you sense of humor through it all is priceless!!!!
-
I've brought new meaning to "tits and ass"!!! haha!
Ok....why am I awake at 3:00am?????? ugh.....GO TO SLEEP MICHELLE!!! I wish I was floating on a floatie in Lisa or Robins pool....looking at the stars. I promise i won't disturb the neighbors!
-
Michelle, lol, lol, lo, you must stay up nights thinking of these things...ya literally I guess. Sure, come on over, any time, day or night, byof (bring your own floatie), the neighbors won't mind, they're a noisy bunch themselves sometimes
-
Great pics!
Congrats JB!!! You did it
I hope the rest of you are on to healing and recovering well!
-

I've been pretty busy this summer, enjoying our lake house & just loving feeling good & energetic!
DJJ-we go to wine country in October, hopefully no more earthquakes.
Took the day off today to go to the ocean with my daughter, she goes back to college next week:(
Enjoy the rest of summer everyone, wishing us all good health!
-
ps, my hair is coming in super curly!
-
congrats Jbokland!! Happy Dancing for you!!
-
MRI rescheduled for tomorrow instead of next tues because of a cancellation. Bone scan fri.
Nervous now. MRI due to worries about "lumpy" R breast and bone scan due to joint aches and pains, upper back pain, PET denied due to only being stage 1 but they ok'd bone scan. Whatever! Worried more about the MRI. MO ordered these. Yup, nervous as expected. Only husband knows I'm having the tests..and you guys. Easy to hide from kids and my fam when they dint live here. Don't want to explain and worry people until I have good news...or... Sorry, I know, don't think like this but we all do. Have to keep the good news coming, please. 10 mo since dx. Can't be anything right?
Holli, great new pic but too small to see you and fam.
NEskir, glad your feeling good. Like the pic on the water also. Welcome to the curly club.
-
Lisa, I can relate to the worry....i was a MESS! I will be thinking of your tomorrow and will say an extra prayer for you...everything will be fine, i just know it!!
Hopefully the docs won't make you wait for results over the long holiday weekend! Good Luck my friend!
Michelle
-
jbokland wahooo !!!
and there go my eyebrows again... and a few lashes...... GAWD
-
Lisa, good luck with your testing. Will be thinking of you. It stinks to have to keep worrying about this *)^&$#! My one yr mammo is on Friday. I am not really worried about it, but will certainly be glad when I get results from RO. Have an RO appt next Wed....
Have you had any other non-routine testing done since your DX? At least it was moved up, instead of back! Hopefully, they will get results to you sooner than later. Your DX day is the same as my LX day.
We are all coming up on a year....
neskir, good to hear from you!
-
Michele, keepthefaith, I don't know if I want to get results before or after the weekend. Going to LI to see fam and if it's good then no prob but if it's "there's an area we need to look at further" then I don't want to know before. My LI family doesn't know that I'm going for MRI sooner than 1yr (but not much sooner-it's 10months). I've been saying how good I feel (which I really do, basically, ugh). Haven't had any other non-routine testing until now. And the MRI would be routine but just 2mo early and because of a concern that the mo felt, but she really hasn't my R side before (she really hasn't done a thorough breast exam on me ever?!). I have to stop analyzing this and just get through it. My DH says, stop worrying, you're going to be fine. Ya easy for him to say...and worrying is what I do best since this started.
Ok so my friend posted this on fb. Wish he'd show up for our hot flashes right? Lol! With that thought, good night ladies.
-
Congrats Jbok!!
Lisa, definitely understand the scanxiety. Lumps and bumps can send us over the edge....
Michelle, the floaty is on the back patio! LOL!!! Happy your butt has healed!
Sorry I am MIA, still struggling with having to say goodbye to my youngest fur baby. Started Effexor for hot flashes, depression and anxiety. It is starting to help but will take a few more days to fully take effect. Down to one hot flash a night waking me up vs. one every two hours....progress.
