TIME TO CIRCLE THE WAGONS GIRLS

Shamefully, I've never seen or heard of a chocolate fountain . . . sounds yummy, though.
The cookbook idea is an excellent idea - and I love the title!! -
Well good morning to all my sisters. I am late to my early morning watch. Fell into a deep sleep after dinner and the wonderful key lime pie. Got a call at 2:30AM from my husband. His car broke down, wouldnt start - so I had to go pick him up. He was entertaining at a pub last night. Well anyways, it wasnt a short trip. 60 mile round trip. Poor guy, said well I will sleep in the car until morning if ya want. Geez!! And isnt it the truth. We just bought a new car. Now the 2nd one breaks down. But I'm here. Just a little late this morning.
Ah, back to the circle. Coffee is brewing. Hazelnut this morning. Dont much feel like cooking breakfast so walked on down to the general store. What a wonderful coffee cake they had. Its called a pizza coffee cake. Round with all different kinds of fruit. Some blueberry, some cherry, some apply, so cheesecake, and some raspberry. Getting ready to cut the first slice. And Im hoping the chocolate fountain is still working. Would love to dip my piece in the chocolate.
Im so glad everyone feels safe in this circle. Jeannie what a hard day! Still hoping for B9 results.
Ok. Oops. Gotta go to the outhouse. So Ill be back in a little bit.

OH the pizza coffee cake sounds delish! So much good food on this thread, no wonder dieting never works out!
-
I once read that if there was one woman on a wagon train she did not make it and died along the way. If there were even 2 or more they would survive. I thought that very nteresting. We need each other to talk to and find understanding.
So to call this a wagon train is really appropriate. We support each other and listen and can sympathize and empathize.
Candy -
Anybody else iinterested in making ourselves a cookbook? I was getting all carried away with my retired corporate self trying to figure out printing and mailing costs when it dawned on me, all we have to do is post recipes on their own thread and we can print off the ones we want to keep. And i was a tech trainer for awhile. DUH!
The eye looks a little better this a.m. Still can't open it, and if I do get it open about 1/4" I see double but we have gone from "loser in a hatchet fight" to "ya, but you should see the other guy!. I'd still scare the horses and small children so guess laying low in my wagon is the best idea---gotta do the 20 minute on/off ice pack thing today. Hard to do anything with ice balanced on your face!
Can't bend over either so hubby, bless him, is cleaning the house in preparation for his brothers' arrivals as house guests Wednesday. My mother didn't raise any dummies!
Jeannie -
Do you mean just have a recipe thread? That would be an easy way to do it!
-
That would be good. I like that idea. Some are already posting recipes in The Pound forum. Maybe we could consolidate them into one place. Someone posted a great Oven Fried Chicken recipe.
Maybe we could talk Melissa into 'sticking' the recipe thread so it didn't move off the front page. -
What a great idea! We could keep the recipe thread going with seasonal recipes. I'm in.
Had to pull the covers over me this morning with the cool damp rain. Didn't want to wake up, but I am here with my man Ted and we're patroling again. Waiting to see some sun one day.
Happy and healing thoughts to our sisters in their time of need this week. -
I have an awesome recipe for Pecan Pralines. They melt in your mouth.
-
Christine,
praying for your friend Tim. Must be very scary to have cancer and no treatment options.
Silvergirl, glad you are feeling better.
Susan -
I also have a cake recipe that you make with diet soda somewhere. Supposed to be low calories.
-
WOW! Took me two days to catch up reading here!
You know you are all still in my heart and thoughts and prayers!
DEBBIEFIVE, (((((((JESUS TAKE THE WHEEL)))))))!
Tell Tim to pull up a log and set a spell.
I have this really long quilt that will reach around all in the circle to keep the wind off our backs.
Thank goodness no one took a shot the other night! That was me howling at the moon!!! Found a hot little poker game just up the trail so I sneaked off with some beer and lobster. Lost all my egg money but had a blast! Don't think too badly of me!
NS, my cats have a stash of mouse, snake and some kind of lizzard looking thing. Help yourself!
Beans and weinnies...beans and weinnies...beans and weinnies! Please! (and corn bread)
"...run through the fire",
Denise
P.S. I don't mean that literally Carrie...stay out of the camp fire! -
Oh yeah, I get a CT done on Tuesday. Figures, everytime I schedule a vacation day I end up doing a procedure, (last year my lumpectomy was on my first day of a long awaited vacation!) I believe it is a conspiracy to keep me from taking time off at work! It just might work too! Thanks for asking NS. I swear this place makes me forget that I even have issues!
Denise -
Adding Tim to our wonderful circle. I swear this place can make the ddarkest, dampest, cold day seem so much nicer.
Just a thank you ladies...I would be lost if I couldn't come here and read and feel such a great connection to all of you.
We have the best wagon train in history!
Lotsa hugs all around and talk to everyone later...gotta clean house.
Vickie -
Thanks so much Vickie - the weather here is PERFECT. Tim does get to leave the hosp. today, still unsure what the future holds, with very few tx options. There is so much power and strength here, I can really feel it.
-
It is a cool rainy morning and I spent a few extra moments inside my wagon saying a prayer for ALL of you. May your day be filled with small blessings...they are there...you just have to slow down and look.
Hugs,
Deb C. -
So for cookbook time - can we have a special chapter devoted to breast recipes?
Like breast of chicken, lamb, veal...turkey..smoked duck...
For those of us with a warped sense of humour. -
I love a warped sense of humor. That sounds excellent to me, morningsky.
-
Morningskywomen...that would be so funny and we'd probably be the only ones who "get" it!
Deb...its a cool rainy morning here too but I'm far from Alaska and NOT ready for this kind of weather just yet.
ok a rant.
Flying to Florida next Saturday morning...never flown before and to be perfectly honest...SCARED SH*TLESS!! Man, I'm gonna need two extra strength Xanex to just get out of the car at the airport. My son is pretty nervous so I have to put on the big brave front but I'm not sure which one of us is more nervous! One more news report about crashes, blown tires and fires and this girls gonna WALK to Florida. Wonder if they allow you to pack a parachute?!?
Suppose if I can survive chemo, surgery and rads I can make it through a simple plane trip...I hope...oh crap, there I go again...back and forth, up and down. Can we just take our wagon train there?
Denise...I know just what you mean about this place making me forget all my issues (well, all except this flying issue at the moment LOL).
Hugs
Vickie -
I love flying. And I'm a sucker for airport shopping too! Enjoy it and try not to worry.
-
Newvickie,
me too. and I'm planning a trip to California in December. arrrrgh!
susan -
Newvickie---
Didn't you know wagon trains fit on airplanes? I have always loved flying (if I could've afforded it, would have loved lessons and getting a private pilot's license) but avoid it these days just because of the security hassles.
Going to Disney World? Just remember to take some new packable toys for your son--books, stickers, etc., to keep him occupied.
Will PM you later. Fair is starting to look like a scratch for us---not feeling so great today. Double vision a little hard on the old tummy.
Jeannie -
Jeannie,
You seem to be handling this so well! I hope I don't sound condencending, but I am just so proud of you!
Take good care,
Denise -
NS posted that Anderson Cooper "plays for the other team"...I just love Anderson Cooper...my night is ruined...I had no idea...someone pass me a beer...oops...wrong thread.
-
Naniam...cold rainy and nasty here...do we get some of your good visuals tonight? I hate gray gloomy days, I'm a sunshine girl all the way.
Silvergirl...Sorry your going to miss the fair and it looks like I probably will to. Went school and trip shopping today and have a terrible backache...can't drive far without my back acting up like crazy.
Later ladies -
Hi everyone,
I just got back from the general store ladies stocked up on
some supplies . It is damp and cool so I have some hot chocolate staying warm by the fire ,and I made some nice apple popovers for you all. I think I will toast some marshmellows for anyone that would like to float them on top of their chocolate. The home made vegetable stew that was my grandma's recipe is almost dne , it has a rich thick broth and goes really well with a nice sweet slice of cornbread.
Hugs,
Carrie -
Oh Carrie, that sounds wonderful all the way around!
I think we're going to need a big fire tonight and lots of comforters and grandma's afghans, fuzzy slippers and robes and warm caps for all our heads.
Hugs
Vickie -
I can bring some fresh churned butter......its white.........no food coloring.........just white and sweet and creamy for your cornbread
-
OKAY ladies, recipes, recipes and more recipes are requested....
It's nice and comfortable here, sun's going down got the hubby in the kitchen cutting up a watermelon so that's one of the healthier desserts..
Well wishes to all
just vera -
A healthy desert!!! No, it can't be...me and my little guy are having cherry turnovers with ice cream (and maybe a little chocolate syrup)...hey, there's fruit and milk, does that count?
I used to own a diner and have lots of recipes...are we posting here or somewhere else?
I have a favorite recipe for whoopie pies that you would all just love...my mom made them all the time.
