Breast Cancer Again?

I had an appointment with my surgeon today for semiannual visit and mammogram follow up. They found something in the left breast. He is sending me for a ultrasound and biopsy. I had a PET scan several months ago and they found something on the left. My oncologist was going to have another PET scan done in August.  I hope that it is not breast cancer again. I have already done all of that---lumpectomy, chemotherapy and radiation. My father and sister both died of cancer. I am scared and the waiting is so hard. Christy

    Hi Christy, I am sorry you are going through this. I know how scary it is, and how awful the waiting is. There is still a good chance this will turn out to be nothing to worry about.

    I'm in a similar situation. Went in for first mammogram since my delayed reconstruction after second/completion mastectomy, and they found 7 calcifications under the skin. Scheduled for consult with a surgeon in town on Tuesday, and also sent report and films to the surgeon I've used for previous lumpectomies/mastectomies. Fingers crossed. Going to hope and pray it's fat necrosis.

    I am in a similar situation too. I went for my 2 year mamo and they found something suspicious  on my right breast, I had my BC in my left, sent me immediately for ultrasound and decided to do ultrasound guided biopsy next week. So terrified and don't want to go through it again :(
