    Hi 

    How many days were you advised to take claritin for neulasta SEs?

    I was in a study of claritiin vs zyrtec, and was told to take one pill every day.    I am no longer in the study (because i had a few weeks without neulasta).   Now I am back on neulasta, and not sure if every day is right amount.

    It varies with the amount and severity of Neulasta induced bone pain that each person experiences.  I started the day before and took 10mg of Claritin (loratidine) for about a week after each injection.  I had Neulasta every 21 days, so I took it for a third of the time, then had two weeks off.I have a friend whose onc told her to take it twice a day (10mg each time) for a week following treatment, so double what I took.  Here is a link to the original study:

    I was told to take it the day of the injection and for 3 days after the injection (10mg a day). I developed fever and bone pain after the first injections, which lasted a few hours, but had no further symptoms after the last 3 injections ( which I had 3 weeks apart).

    I take it the day before, day of, and two days after my shot.  So far I haven't had any problems with bone pain.  I also get the shot in my belly instead of arm.

    I take it the day before and each day for a week after (it also helps my allergies ;)
