Sunshine36-- You've gone through Chemo girl, you can roar through this one!!!!     (Not that you're not totally justified in feeling freaking nervous!)       The fact that you're at work today shows that you're one strong lady!!     But strong or not, we'll be there to carry you through it with our good thoughts, in the minimal way we can help.   Thinking of you (and picturing you jumping to the sky every time the phone rings.   Picture us as the soft mattress to land back down on.)

Thank you girls!!!! I am checking my phone every 5 mins! I know it'll be hard to sleep tonight , but knowing my chemo is done and that I could potentially wake up from my bmx tomorrow cancer-free is so amazing. I pray my lymphs are clear (I did have a positive lymph biopsy back in april)!

Did anyone have bad nausea after anest

Jules that is exactly how my pain is. I got all 3 drains out Monday and instantly felt so much better. So nice to sleep on my side again. Very upset I can't sleep on my left side though.

Allydp - your positive attitude is wonderful....sorry about the pain and the knick! 6 drains - ugh!

Violet, Annemo and Angelfait - thinking of you and sending positive energy your way.

Sunshine, Ganzgirl and Gramof2 - wishing you a restful night and that surgery is as pain free as possible. You got this! Gentle ((hugs))

To my other August Sisters I hope you are all doing great!

Tomorrow I go to the oncologist, so I am nervous, but will be glad to find our the final path report and what my next steps are.

Lipglossmom, I had the sentinel lymph node biopsy with the blue dye injections. I had four small injections, just under the breast skin, and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I am a needle whimp, too! For me, it was a quick "pinch/bee sting" feeling and then warm from the dye. My wonderful husband held my hand and let me squeeeeze! I know we are each different and each experience pain differently so remember to breathe and remember you are extremely strong and we are all with you! : )

Thank you Diva, that's good to know, I was scared of the biopsy and that didn't hurt at all.

EveRyones kind words always make me tear up. You know I have only really cried, cried twice since being diagnosed? Sometimes I feel like I'm in denial. I don't want to cry in front of my two little boys. Sigh

    lipgloss,

My surgeon provided the surgical bra, so I went home with it.  Make sure they aren't doing that for you and it will save you an extra detail.  There are so many pre op things to gather / organize.

Woohoo!!!     This train's pulling out!!!!      Got a phone call this morning from Nuclear Medicine department "reminding" me that I have a lymphoscintography scheduled for 10:30  A.M.   tomorrow.       Oh-- really????    That's the first I've heard of it!     (wondering if this means sential node mapping and thus imminent surgery or else maybe they finally bothered to look at my last echography exam showing enlarged, hard intramammary lymph node and decided that since my surgery isn't going to be anytime soon, it might be better to check out all my lymph nodes???    But  don't manage to find the words  to ask the question to the Nuclear Medicine person that called.          An hour later I'm in  the car heading to talk to the surgery department nurse, to see if there's anything else they forgot to tell me about---       Get almost there and my cell phone rings again.     this time it's the surgery department nurse.      "Tomorrow morning at 8 AM report for hospital recovery.     Surgery Friday."      So--- a quadrantectomy for me on Friday!!!!!      I'm so relieved that things are finally moving!!      I want this out and analyzed and most of all I want to finally be able to see an oncologist!!!    (guess that won't happen until after path report gets back, but we're finally moving, kids!!!!)

Is anyone on the Friday train with me?      I didn't notice any (or maybe I've forgotten and gotten confused!)

Sunflowercat---    forgot to send you wishes for your surgery tomorrow!      Hope your node mapping today was non traumatic!    And hope you found a way to keep your hair from making you feel more uncomfortable.

lipgloss, I found out about that injection today when I called to schedule my pre-op.  Ugh.  I'm going to lean on those saying it was pretty much no big deal.  Also I have an appt with my PS this afternoon and I've not yet bought a bra because I am going to ask them if I need to buy one.  Not that every PS isn't different, but def ask.

For whatever reason, it was scheduling that damn pre-op that completely broke me down.  Now I'm putting my big girl panties back on and getting on with the rest of my day.  Stupid cancer.

I am so encouraged by all of you ladies.  You are so brave.  Your pictures post surgery blow me away.  I should be so lucky lol.

    Hugs to all !!

Imheretoo-  Great recap of all the many procedures we have going on...gosh, it is a busy month.  Sorry I have not been able to get on the site but am trying to catch up.

Allydp-  Sure hope you are feeling better...of course, those when those darn drains come out, you will feel LOTS better!!

Quilt-  Not fun but over fast is my recollection...hang in there!!

To all that have had procedures:  rest, relax and recover...our 3 R's!!

    Take care,

    Ally

SunnyC-  Everyone has those moments...my emotions stay close to the surface these days.  I purchased a bra but did not bring to surgery thinking that would give me a second one.  That was a mistake for me...the velcro all over the surgical bra rubbed my skin raw in several places.  If you need a bra, the fruit of the loom front closure from Walmart is a cheap easy one for surgery day.  Know we are thinking of you!!

Soo, just got back from pre-op and failed my EKG. She mentioned that it could be a silent heart attack. Unbelievable.

Can't have any long surgery till this is taken care of, understandably.

She was going to call a cardiologist to schedule it.  But they are all so busy.

I immeadiatley called my plastic surgeons assistant Marine ( I love this woman) and she said, "Did she scare you?" Let me make some calls here and I'll call you right back.  She scheduled my cardiologist apt and the echo tomorrow at UCLA!

She is a miracle worker! And if I want to, I can switch to the box w implants instead of the diep. Now I'm terrified of being under for 10 hrs.

     Yay me!

    FYI- I'm 43

Big marshmallow hugs to you all. You're all so brave!

    Lipglossmom...let's hope it's just a test glitsch.

I asked for an appointment with my surgeon and they got me in today. HER2 result is in and it is negative. No CT scan result yet, and I got the impression they were hanging on to the bone scan result until the CT scan was ready...but I could be wrong. You don't tell someone they have cancer, have them stop a 40 year smoking habit and expect them to focus! LOL Anyway, I asked what I could expect from a standard wide excisional lumpectomy, and he said the results would be quite satisfactory. Ginormous bazooms may be inconvenient, but they have advantages in these circumstances! So it's lumpectomy on the 29th. Surgeon says if they need to go in again for better margins later, he'll do the segmental at that point when I'll have recovered further from the nicotine. I'm happier with the shorter surgery. They have treatment meetings on Tuesdays, so next Wednesday I'll have another appointment and get my scan results then.

We're going for a weekend in Wales starting Friday. Woo-hoo! New scenery!

Isn't it funny how we concentrate on small details like our hair, our pedicure, our laundry...me, I'm obsessing about when to fit in shopping for new slippers...

Milaandra, enjoy your vacation.  I hope you have a fan time!

Lipglossmommie, I'm sorry to hear about the initial EKG report. Sounds like you have a very thorough doctor which is gr I'm also 43 and didn't have any of those tests prior to surgery.  I'm happy to hear your plastics assistant hooked you up so quickly.  She sounds awesome.  Good luck tomorrow. Praying for better results. Keep us posted!

After surgery bras...I just bought some bali sports bras today.  I step into it and stretch/pull it up. The velcro on the surgical bras are so uncomfortable.  No need to be uncomfortable!

SunnyC. Agreed. Stupid cancer.  Hang in there.  You are going to kick it to the curb!

Ally, love it! 3 R's! REST, RELAX, RECOVER. :-)

Hello everyone. lymph node mapping went well.  Just a pinch and done. then two hours later ct. I get to give the pictures to my surgeon. I did peak. Bad me lol. So tomorrow is my day. Hospital at 5:45 am and then surgery at 7:45 am. I did not get everything that I wanted done today but I did change the sheets on the bed and clean the bathroom and laundry. Still nervous about tomorrow, but not to bad.

Hope to let you know in a few days how I did.

    Hugs to all.
