Fever after FEC

Hi everyone, 

I am 30 years old and on my fourth cycle of FEC. I developed a fever on day ten after 4th treatment (at the nadir, when counts are lowest). I'm in the hospital and have been here for two days now on antibiodics through the IV. My neutrophils are .71 at last count so they don't want me to go until they are at 1 and I'm fever free. Did this happen to anyone? Just wondering how normal it is as I don't have many people to speak with.

    Yes, I was in the hospital for 4 nights, 3 days, on intravenous antibiotics.  They never did figure out what caused the fever, an infection of some kind.  Not sure how normal it is, but sure happened to me.  Hope you get out soon.... GG

    Sorry to hear about this but in case this helps, both my friend and I got carted in and got diagnosed with neutropenia and sepsis. We stayed in hospital for a few days and got sent home with antibiotics. My neutrophils got down to 0.37.

    I am now two and a half years out and my friend is nine years out, both cancer-free.

    Hopefully you will be too!

    Thanks for your reply! The doctors didn't seemed too concerned about it, so it seems to be relatively normal at this stage. Not fun!
