Dear Ladies, Went to see Rad Doc to day. She gave me a stronger antibiotics and will see me Thus. No rads until she see me. That means it will be Oct before I finish. Breast not looking any better today.
-
ok ladies I finished the top it's beautiful lol but takes time. To many little details lol I really can't wait to go somewhere hot and wear my own designs lol
Look how it turned out
I love how it covers all the scars lol no body could tell what underneath lol
-
You sure work fast, how many hours. Do you design your own patterns? Just beautiful. Can
we see the back?
-
-
Trying to work on inserting picture. Delete above was one of my attempts. This is one of my ink drawings.
-
Lilgoats...... This is the one I ordered from Walmart.com.... I really like it, and could put
it together by myself.... I needed help actually putting it in the ground
though....And I put it ALL together, and then positioned it, with
the spikes in the legs and pushed it into the soft ground. It seems pretty
sturdy. You could even put "re-bar" posts next to an arch, to make it
stronger.http://www.walmart.com/ip/Gothic-Garden-Arch/14071634
Thanks Cammi! I put that quilt together with my
machine.... Only quilted it with embroidery yarn by hand.... to hold the
batting and flannel backing together in blocks.Smarty.... I see "cloud" on mine, but are you talking
about a back-up for your documents, etc? Or your photo programs and iTunes?Enerva.... if I had that body, and was about 50 years
younger, I would wear those things EVERYwhere....Ha! You go
girl! -
Envera, It's fantastic...Couldn't you put a little jacket ( Levi or bomber style ) and wear it where you live?
Sailings Wind, very nice, another artist in our group. Sorry to hear the rads are problematic. Do they think its from the rads or lumpie?
Smaarty, I was reading back last night...ah could not sleep....did you say you were asked to make an opportunity quilt? Did I read that correctly? What is that? I loved the one you showed.
Sas, are there ever markings on glass like china & pottery?
-
ha ha ha only for the beach, that's the only place I see me wearing these lol
Single string forbade back
-
We have some very talented ladies here!! Love seeing all the projects from sewing to gardening!!And of course, you all know I love the pet and animal stories!
-
very nice Enerva!!!! You could sell those anywhere!!!!!!
-
Enerva, stunning! Both you and the too!

-
HI1 - some of the better cut glass has markings but you have to be a magician to see it. Hold it just right in just the perfect light. I've never tried. The few pieces I have came from my DM and she was an antique dealer so left the pattern names with the pieces. Anchor Hocking - at least the numerous juice glasses I was looking at - had a capital AH split by an anchor clever huh. I don't know much about china. I have a couple of Japanese pieces can't remember the name - again from DM. I think they're nice but not worth that much. I buy what I like guided by the price. That way if I break it no tears. Unfortunately this house will not hold much more and DD cares not one bit about any of my stuff. Pretty sure DH doesn't care much.
I do have a friend who has a neat display over her sofa of old hand mirrors. Most unusual.
Gosh makes me want to go antique shopping. Have 3 weeks to get dog's heartworm pill. Hoping for a cooler day so I can use it as excuse to go shopping.
Enerva - don't see why you couldn't wear that where you are. Looks like you're decently covered. Like HI1 suggested a tiny jacket would be cute.
Thanks Chevy for the link to the arbor. Will check it out.

I am replying to the thread from a few weeks ago re: thyroid issues. I have been hypothyroid for years - predating my Oct 2013 diagnosis of breast cancer. I started Tamoxifen at the end of June after surgery, chemo and radiation. For last couple of weeks have been experiencing a lot of hot flashes, ..sheesh I can't remember what I was going to type - - oh yeah - reduced cognitive function, little weight loss (SO not normal), anxiety etc. Had Onc appointment and was thinking these were side effects of Tamoxifen. Dr. decided to run TSH blood test in addition to regular stuff. Sure enough TSH VERY low, and could possibly be responsible for some if not all of the SE's I have been attributing to Tamoxifen. Any one else going through this? Could it be drug interaction? Guess I will find out but my endo is no longer practicing so now I get to go find yet ANOTHER doctor.
Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks. -
Oh hey HI Animallvr! So you must like animals, right? I am so QUICK when it comes to this.... Ha!
Just wait until Sass gets ahold of YOUR symptoms! She had major thyroid stuff.... She knows what she is talking about, even if I don't!
I know about Tamoxifen! I took it for about 1 1/2 years.... but quit..... For me, losing my hearing was just the last straw. But it was caused by a stroke in my brain stem.
I had "warm waves" also.... and leg cramps, AND sleep issues, while on Tamoxifen.... But those SE's usually lasted 2 weeks about, and THEN you get NEW side effects! And also, yes, it sort of does screw up your brain..... but only tempoary....
I just quit going to my Oncologist, because NO-ONE would talk to me about losing my hearing! I figured it all out on my own! Then further research, and talking to OTHER women who had the same problem, were told "In SOME women with a CERTAIN GENE, a stroke is more probably from Tamoxifen affecting the 8th cranial nerve, leading to hearing loss."
Not that would make you think I know what I am talking about..... but not always...
Sometimes you just have to figure your own stuff out.... but talk to your team.... if you have one! You really need someone to talk to about your side-effects.... someone that will listen to what is going on with you!
Are you doing okay with your chemo? Lots of gals on here, know all about that....
Hope to hear from you again!

H ... From lumpectomy

Sailing! That was a beautiful picture! You really ARE an artist! But what is your last post about? "H"? means what? I'll bet you hit post before you finished?
-
Holeinone ask if infection was from rads or surgery
-
OK OK I'm off a bit and everything goes kabong Sailing wht's with the infection, where is it, I've missed something. But sometimes these crazy infections last a long time--u have to regularly see the Dr. for progress. t one point I had an infection for 3 months but saw the Doc 2x a week, how stupid I am I didn't know it was an infection for a while, I thought everything was standard procedure. but everything else stopped while I had the infection.
AnimalLvr--I guess u might have to wait for Sas or u'r Dr. but usually after everything is done. all u'r blood work and stuff is all off and I think a lot of us thought whew I'm done so now everything is going to be fine. Now and not always--the SE's from our little crazy pill comes in play and u are describing some SE's from Tammy--but u't Dr. will make things clear when U see her/him.
OK now I'm picking on EVERYONE in here doesn't anyone know how to do nothing, like me--Everyone has so much talent from gardening to art and everything in between. BTW Enerva that back on u'r top is a super hot look now. All I'm good at is getting myself in trouble with the IRS and the STATE--Trouble's my middle name, Oh yea BTW it is. Well I would say if I had money I would b very good t shopping for clothes and if I were thin I could wear them. But someone some where has to say they have no talent--NONE, like me, even Chevy can do stuff, even Chevy--wht a lopsided world we live in, up is down, down is up and Chevy can do things and I can't--EVEN CHEVY---I am thankful u gals share u'r talent but come on even Chevy.

holein1, an opportunity quilt is what guilds use for fund raising. Once the quilt is done, it travels to other guilds so people can buy raffle tickets for a chance to win it. Most are won at the guilds quilt show. Our current one will be won in sept 2015. The one I'm in charge of (stupid me) needs to be done and traveling by early 2016. The picture was of a quilt I like the layout, I didn't make it.
Sailing, very talented. Wish I could draw a straight line! Never could draw or paint. My kids can, but I didn't inherit that.
Enerva, like the top. Will you be able to keep crocheting after your sx?
-
Cam... I will go back to the beginning. Last Weds. morning woke up with left breast red and swollen. Went to 7 th day Rads. Saw Doc. She said it was an infection from bacteria fluid in cavity from surgery. Not uncommon. Gave me antibiotics . Stopped rads. Talked to her on Thursday and fri. Seemed to start to get better. Pain much less. Talked to the office today. Told me to come in. She gave me stronger anti. Said to come in Thurs. if not better will go to BS and have it drained. Helps with taking care of hardness in breastbut does nothing for infection.she seems to be on top of it. Wants me to call daily.
-
Enerva, you are so talented! Unfortunately I do find myself limited by my scars when it comes to clothes. My upper tattoo dot from rads shows with most anything other than a t-shirt.
Sailing, that ink drawing is incredible.
-
Yes, luv, I recovered from pushing the scooter. It was just over a mile. My scooter is sitting inmy garage. I'm just too darn busy to take it to be looked at.
-
Sailing good, it sounds like u'r Doc is right on top of this so hopefully it will get cleared soon. It is a PITA tho.
Dutch leave the scooter alone for now--just stop overdoing.
-
I'm with you Nettie, these girls are all so talented, love to look at their handiwork. I think I have 2 left hands, LOL Sailing, hope you get a handle on this infection quickly, sorry it is holding up your treatments.
-
Cami, eventually it will get cold and I'll put it away. Yesterday I was going have a lazy day but....the call came. My nephew needed help cutting 4x4s and decking boards for his eagle scout project. He is making benches and a wheelchair accessible table for use on one of the trails here. That took a good parts of the afternoon. I met my daughter for her break at work and my son and his gf came to visit.
-
Holy chit Dutch u'r a powrhouse That'''s wonderful.
3rd I'm so glad to hear someone else can't do anything Thanks for spilling u'r guts. LOL
-
Sailing-----------hope your doing okay, Seems to me you were working on an infection. Who am I mixing up?
Animalvr- WELCOME HERE.If your brain isn't working right then you will fit right in here.YOUR our kind of girl. LOL
I believe that mainstream medicine hasn't much of a clue as how the whole endocrine system affects us.The TSH is the mainstream medicine gold standard. It shouldn't be run alone. Shound be run with T3, Free T4, Reverse T3, Auto antibodies & thryoglobulin, Cortisol. Other tests run at same time B12, Folate, Iron panel with ferrintin(if not in panel). HBA1C for sugar evaluation should be run at least once a year if not diabetic, then every 3 months if diabetic.
Our symptoms/problems can have so many origins. What has solidified this last year for meis: 1. that our care is fractured by having to many docs with there own individual body part/system. 2. the ability of docs to intergrate what they learn from the tests, to what the patient is telling them, ranges from strong to absent. 3. we are lucky if we can survive or life saving treatment without harm occurring.
My goal in the next few months is to establish a plan of monitoring my health through minimum but appropriate testing and labs I want done once a year.
-------------------------------------
Hi1 Marks are wonderful when they are there, but they weren't always put on. Some manufactures always did . Some never. Some whenever they decided too. Like LMG's saying about Anchor Hocking. They just didn't mark allot.
That's why I think, first of all, it has to be a piece that pleases you, by it's beauty. That little plate that I got for .25 cents, every time I sit and look at it. I get lost in the wonder of how the light reflects and the texture of the patterns within the pattern, the artistry. Would I pay the $40 it was listed at. Not likely. So, for me in my cheapness, it's a way to access beauty, That I would otherwise deny myself.
---------------------
Enerva---I think you should test the waters on a price somewhere above $100.00. Go to a boutique upscale shop and look at their prices. Hey you could ask a Kardashian what they would pay for one. Or send one, to one of them.............Then they can fight over it............Then you can become this houte couture diva. LOL.....with lots and lots of money.
-
Chevy, and Cami what you can't understand me when how what?????????????
2ta looked at FB and tried to friend Love. Awfully sleepy last few days. But the damage of that article is to vast now. I know Love really meant well, but she forgot the basics of do no harm.
-
Hi all, Ziggy made it to his flight this morning and he is now in Washington. If you see Ziggy at a pet adoption event Wren give him a hug for me. It was hard not to cry when he left, but I know I helped him and he will be loved always and now I have room to temp foster again. Snuggs and Annie Mae have forgiven me and really glad the 'boy' intruder is gone. Goats, I like Z names too.
SailingWind you are an artist, so beautiful. In Temecula, near my house, a woman teaches painting Classes on the grounds of a winery. The class is 45 dollars and includes a glass of wine. I've been considering it.
Enerva, I love that top you made and you look great in it.
Welcome Animallvr, if you love animals you will fit in perfect. I just started a small amount of synthoid thyroid med to help raise my energy level. But Sas is the expert on all the medical stuff.
Cami, you are the best at taking amazing showers and smelling like sunshine. You are amazing with Joey. When I first posted on this thread, you were the first to welcome me. And you and Chevy should do stand up comedy, in spite of what you say about yourself, you are quick witted, always make me laugh.
Hi 2nd, we are getting closer to our next get together with the bco gals from inland empire. I'm looking forward to it. Although the steroids prior to infusion made me gain so much more weight I don't need to eat too much
I wish everyone on this thread could get together...remember when we all had parties? Even the one in the dog house. Goodnight all, sleep well. Hugs.
-
Yes she's "quick" Lilpaws! Thay ALL said that about her.... And SHE calls ME ..... oh what was it....? Everready?..... No... It was "EVENCHEVY!" Seemed to perterb her a little bit there... I mean "EvenChevy" can do stuff!
She thinks I can do one thing... like chickinsit! Hah! Showed HER, didn't I...?! She can write mega-letters to her heads of State, and the Igotchermoney people.
Yes Paws, I remember our dog-house Party.... Even posted pictures of some...
So Sassy, did you answer what'shernames' question? I mean about the Thyroid stuff? She is new here, and I of course deferred to you, because you know how much me and Cammi know!
She's laughing Cam... I can just hear her now.... I mean see her!
Nothin' new here.... just still dark out... I at least have to wait until it is a LITTLE light out.... so I can go walk around freely, without fear of hitting the bricks again...
