My surgeon (who is now retired) has 0/2 nodes on my report. I know I had the dye was for indicating the sentinal node, did they actually remove 2 nodes?

Under my arm is still tight almost 3 years out. Did they test enough nodes?

Your surgeon will remove as many nodes as light up with dye/tracer, or sometimes there is more than one node encased in the fat pad that is removed in the sentinel biopsy. I had bi-lateral SNB, one node on one side and two on the other. Sometimes several light up, you will see women with more than two removed in a SNB.

Hi Meow, if the Path says 0/2 then 2 were tested and nothing was found,, there wasn't any indication that they should take more.

Specialk is right, there are often more than 1 node that light up, when we have the tracer and scan done.

I think you'll find that many women have discomfort, long after the surgery that removes any lymph nodes. I know I am still very numb in my Mx armpit.

I still massage my chest and underarm and find if I don't so some stretching exercises fairly regularly, I can feel tight again too.
