wife just diagnosed

Wife diagnosed following biopsy with type 2 invasive cancer of right breast with hormone sensitivity.Faces operation on 5th September 2014 to remove sentinel lymph node to see if any further problems.

    Hi beerkat and welcome to BCO.  So sorry that your wife has joined our numbers but BCO is a great place to come for support and information.

    It sounds like your wife is still going through the initial investigation to be sure that the cancer has not left the breast.  Once all that is done her treatment plan will be put forward and she can begin in earnest to fight.

    If you have any questions or queries or just want to talk, there is usually someone around as this site is world wide.

    The main part of this site has loads of information that will help you understand your wife's diagnosis.

    If it helps, there is a section in the main site called Breast Cancer 101 (just click the link) designed for those recently diagnosed that you and your wife may find interesting, and will help you better understand test results, the individual characteristics of the cancer, treatments that are recommended for your wife, and more. 

    Here in the discussion boards you'll find also a helpful forum called For Caregivers, Family, Friends and Supporters where you can share your experiences on supporting and caring for the person you love. We hope this helps, you're not alone.
