Her2+ Stage 1 Anyone on here metastasize ???

Options

im just terrified ...

my tumor was only 0.4cm plus 0.2cm dcis with no lymph node involvement but it was multifocal with a k67 score of 87%, had a double mastectomy april 8 2014 and im doing THC then just herceptin, 4 rounds done, 2 more to go

i know the odds tell me there is only a 10% chance of mets but that seems huge to me, i had dcis er+ 6 years ago, so this is my second go around with cancer already ... since the pathology of this cancer is so different there is no way of knowing if its a recurrence or a new cancer, same breast but different quadrant

    Hi there, I'm sorry you had a second cancer and while I dont have experience with that I did want to share my support.  I know others who faced similar issues will be along soon to chime in.

    Hi Patti-

    No mets for me (yet, hopefully never- fingers crossed)- I am almost up to 2 years since my october 2012 diagnosis and just had clean scans.

     I just wanted to tell you what my really well seasoned Chemo doc told me, which helps me a lot with my fears of relapse. She said that she used to hate it when her patients had a Her2+ diagnosis but now, since herceptin and its newer analogs are so effective, it is her favorite kind of cancer to treat. I found that reassuring.

    There is a thread with women who are five years or more out from a Her2+ diagnosis. I love that one too.

    Good luck to you!!!

    {{{{hugs}}}}}

    Here is a thread for women who are ER/PR - & Her2+.  Ditto what sciencegal said.  Herceptin and some of the newer drugs have really changed how we look at Her2+ BC.  There have been many women on here who have posted the same comments from their MO.

    Good luck!
