Middle Aged Memories

Perfection was still around when my kids were little and I got it for them. Great for the fine motor skills, hand/eye coordination, all that.
-
This was one of my favorites.
-
I had all those games, still have alot of them. Also the original Operation game...............
-
I had a couple friends who played this religiously. I thought it was stupid!
-
Oh, Eph! Maybe you just played it with the wrong people. Remember this lame-o, figure it out game?
Well, try playing it with Samuel L. Jackson...
-
hahahahaha -
Haha, I don't remember hardly any of those games at all. "Pa, There's A Goat On The Roof" rings a bell - probably because the name is so stupid who could ever completely wipe it out of their mind?
We mostly played Monopoly and Risk. We played Risk like our lives were on the line, we would just get so into it. I remember a friend of ours getting so frustrated with us when he was losing that he folded up the game, haha! We still tease him about that to this day.
-
Remember this one?
-
I remember something about Parcheesi, never played it though
Anyone remember Funny Face? Like KoolAid. We used to have the whole set
-
Wow, you gals have been really at it pulling memories out of the past. We played Parchessi, Agravation, Don't spill the Beans and many of the others. My mother got tired of us playing Trouble because we would just sit there an pop the Pop-O-Matic.
Anyone play or have this one? I'll bet mine disappeared because my mother got tired of picking up the little wood straws.
-
Never had a Parchesi board, but played several times. That board looks deluxe. I have a great vintage Chinese Checkers board. It's a little worse for wear and now I've hung it on the wall because it my grandma and I played on that board. It is this model:
("'Melican Checkers." Yes, really.)
Because I watched too much t.v., I remember the phrase, "Aw, you broke the camel's back!" even tho' I don't think I played that game, Meece.
I had really forgotten about Funny Face drinks. Now that you mention it, I am sure the orange was called "Outrageous Orange," and purple was "Goofy Grape," but I don't recall the others.
-
I remember Chinese checkers.
Funny Face flavors: choo-choo cherry, freckle face strawberry, goofy grape, jolly olly orange, lefty lemon, loud mouth punch, rudi tutti punch, with it watermelon,
-
Uh-oh! "Outrageous Orange" must be from something else. Thanks for jogging my brain, mac! Those names do sound familiar, all but the watermelon.
-
I loved Chinese Checkers but I was never very good. My Grandfather used to always beat all us kids.
Elimar, I remember the phrase about the camel too. I also watched way too much TV. I don't recall having the game though.
Funny Face doesn't ring a bell for me.
-
-
With a little luck, I will soon be checking off my final two states and then will have been through (on land) all 50 of them.
-
elimar, if one of those places is Southern California, I sure hope you stop in for a visit!
-
Me, me
Make it be me!
-
Sorry, girls, opposite Coast.
-
Is Maine of your last 2, El?
-
No. GA & SC. But Maine was so long ago, I barely remember it...so may have to revisit there one day.
-
I loved to watch Laugh in and Carol Burnette!! What great memories. I also watched Donny and Marie and the Muppets and what about the Johnny Carson show
-
The picture of the Jolly Ollie Orange packet brought back memories. Union 76 gas stations had a promotion in which they gave away a package of orange or grape funny face with each fill up. It stuck a memory because my father wouldn't drink anything artificially flavored grape, so when he was around we only made the orange.
-
ncollett, My mom and I loved the Carol Burnett show!! Some of my favorite times were watching that show with her. We would laugh until we have tears coming down.
Anyone remember Hee Haw? My Dad loved that one!
-
-
- "Gloom, despair and agony on me-e!
- Deep dark depression, excessive misery-y!
- If it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all!
- Gloom, despair and agony on me-e-e!"
-
-
Yep, we watched Hee Haw. Buck lived a few miles our home, although he was famous for his Nudie suits he was really not that pretentious. He used to drive his convertible in parades. It had steer horns on the front grill. A friend of mine was his pastor and led his funeral. Buck was a very important part of our community.
Anybody know that Buddy was actually his son, not his nephew as they portrayed him to be on Hee Haw?
-
I liked watching Sonny & Cher - loved to see what she would wear next. Every Sunday night we would have sandwiches for dinner in front of the television and watch Bonanza with our dad. Friday nights my parents would go out and we would have one of those metal tray TV dinners and watch Johnny Quest. The Streets of San Francisco and The Mod Squad would try so hard to appeal to us hippie kids, but they were kind of square. Haha, good times! I tell ya, even with all these channels today I have a hard time finding something to watch!

Oh my goodness - Michael Douglas looks so young. Just looked it up and he was born in 1944 so he was in his late 20s.
