Does it mean no eyelashes or eyebrows EVER again?
I had FEC-D chemo and I am 10 weeks PFC, lost all my eyelashes during treatment and lost All eyebrows during and 3-4 weeks after treatment. Nothing is coming back, hair is not doing so well either but I am really worried about my eyelashes and eyebrows, at least I can cover my head but I am finding it very difficult to imagine no eyelashes or brows Ever. Did anybody out there take that long to recover lashes and brows? I have read that many women got their lashes and brows back within 6-8 weeks, did I it take anybody longer, please share your story, I am starting to lose hope.
Another question, when you got your eyelashes back, how did that start and how long did it take for them to thicken and become longer? Was it a quick process?

The hair on my head is SLOWLY coming in but not getting long. I actually am getting some eyelashes and brows. I had AC/Taxol last one was beginning of June. Its not that we are vain, it's I get tired of looking like Chernobyl woman and getting stared at. My friends who have been through this say 2-3 months, but they are liars. LOL

I had a different chemo regimen than you, but I will say that my lashes and brows were MUCH slower to return than the hair on my head. I'm less than 3 years post final chemo and my hair is almost to my waist. My lashes came back at about 70% of their pre-chemo amount, and my brows are about 50% of their pre-chemo glory. It took me awhile to get what I have to grow in, so please don't lose hope. Many women found that their scalp hair started growing during chemo, but brows and lashes took quite a bit longer...but DID return.

I am almost 2 years post chemo, 1 year post Herceptin and now on Tamoxifen. I still have very sparse eyebrows; the nurses said they could take up to 2 years to grow back, but I'm getting very tired of brushing them on every day. I want to look into eyebrow tattooing and am wondering if anyone has done this and has a good recommendation.
My eyelashes came back, but are much thinner, shorter and straighter, they do not curl! My left eye for some reason, the eyelashes were growing in backwards, poking into my eyeball; had to go to the eye doctor to get them plucked out!

I don't remember how long it took for my eyelashes and eyebrows to come back but it felt like forever. I eventually asked my PS to prescribe Latisse and they came back in full force. I'm not sure if it helped, but you may want to try it.

On neoadjuvant A/C, I lost about 1/2 of lashes/brows. On adjuvantTaxol, I lost the rest. They came back fine. I don't remember the exact time frame though

mic,
I had eyebrows tattooed, but as I am in Britain I cannot make any recommendations. I will say it hurt A LOT! My eyebrows did not return after chemo, please don't be alarmed by this ladies, It is quite unusual I am told. I think its partly down to Letrozole as my hair which once looked like an overgrown shrub, has remained thin on top.

I am 19 mo post chemo and 7 months post Herceptin. I unfortunately have only about a 10% (if that) return of hair on my scalp and no brows or lashes still. I think it's about time I let go of hope for it to return. I guess I wasn't just lucky enough to get breast cancer but permanent hair loss too.
