Fierce Blue Bird (Kristine) is an angel
Kristine, also known to her many friends on these threads as FBB, passed away on July 22. She was loved by so many, showed true courage, strength, humour and compassion for others, even in her own personal darkest, scariest times. She will truly be missed.

We love you Blubird. Rest in peace.

I will miss our fierce Bluebird so much. She was so supportive. I loved her wit. She was intelligent and sensitive as well as fierce. She said once that bluebirds weren't very fierce, really, which is why they are in decline. Our bluebird was fierce, strong and loving!

Oh my so saddened by this news. I loved her bright, positive spirit. She was precious and encouraging. I will forever remember her.
-
Thank you for your friendship, support and the laughs, Bluebird. I will miss you. I will always remember you.
FierceBluebird's tagline said...
When I feel fear, I go where the wood duck rests his beauty on the water and the heron feeds. I come into the peace of wild things who do not live with grief. Above me stars are waiting with their light. I rest in God’s grace and am free.
Go, dear friend, to those stars and their beautiful light, be free and live in God's complete grace.
Until we meet again,
Bailey

When the shadows of this life have gone
I'll fly away
Like a bird from these prison walls I'll fly
I'll fly away
I'll fly away, oh glory
I'll fly away in the morning
When I die hallelujah by and by
I'll fly away"I'll Fly Away" by Albert Brumley, 1932
Good-bye, FierceBlueBird. Soar in heaven's sunshine, and may your grieving family be granted peace.

FBB, I am sad, I wish it didn't have to be this way.
-
Awh Blue, too soon, love you sassy

Tears are blurring my eyes....I can barely type this......
Fly Free, Kristine.....soar with the Angels, and keep watch over your BCO friends left behind, who mourn your passing......
-
FBB, you will be missed. Prayers for your family. Thank you for letting us get to know you
-
Kristine,
RIP dear friend.. You were inspirational to me, you will be missed.

Jeannie, Thanks for posting Kristine's photo.

You're welcome, HoleinOne. She posted it herself on the Moving On....After the Flap thread around the Fourth of July before she got her latest test results, I believe. The fact that she checked in and kept up with us there, after losing a flap and a recurrence, shows how kind --and strong--she was. We all say the same things about her: kind, witty, strong, intelligent. She touched us all.

This is me, one year ago at 48 just before diagnosis. You wouldn't recognize me today with crazy curly chemo hair. Wow. Life was so innocent and carefree then. This photo makes me want to cry. Miss those days.

Thanks for the photo! I love the "birds" on her head and shoulder. So fitting.

I painted this for her last night, and missed the mail man this morning, so will not send it to her home. i don't want her family to be more upset. Fly free FBB. You will be missed.

She may have left this earth, but her light will never be extinguished, Rest in peace, Kristine.

some of us knew her through words. Some were blessed to know her personally. But all of us are better for it. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved Kristine. She so generously shared herself and now we each have a tiny piece if her to cling to in our sadness.

Oh Fiercly! Not our Bluebird! I just feel soooooooo bad!!! It's like we make such beautiful friends.... I told her I have a blue-bird underneath our St. Francis statue in my garden, to watch over her...........I never think anyone will leave us... I'm so sorry... fly with the angels. xoxoxo

Sorry, almost posted twice.

After I had my breast skin biopsy while waiting for results,
I stuck my head in the sand and trying my best to stay positive. I felt soft
feathers next to my head and a comforting voice telling me: “it’s nothing.”
That was bluebird’s voice less than two month ago, and she was right. I believe
she was already an angel in training. I know she is flying again, for she has
her angel’s wings. -
Rest in peace Kristine. You were an awesome lady! Fly high my friend. God bless her family during this very difficult time.

My heart goes out to FBB's family. She was always so upbeat and kind to all of us on the insomniac thread. Beautiful soul. I will miss her so much.

Friends,
This is just not fair. I am so angry that we have lost another beloved sister to this beast. FBB, fly free now! The rest of us have so much work to do here to stop this scourge.

I was friends with Kristine on her Bluebird Acres Facebook page. I found her husband Steve's message very comforting. It seems fitting to share that with you all, so I have copied it for you to paste here.

Thank you all for your support and your companionship with Krissy.
She loves all her family, friends and acquaintances.
Though she fought a long, brave war with cancer and lost this ( relatively brief) battle her spirit cannot be vanquished as long as we remember her. -
I'm sorry for the loss of FBB.
My sincere condolences to her family and friends.
