Welcome Andreamia, what a pretty dog & cat!
Went to my Core class this morning but no pilates because I had a hair appointment. I will try to get something more in because I have Book Club tonight (ie wine and dessert) and I am already up several pounds (to put in mildly) from all my vacationing!
-
Kindergarten - I was wondering what "hiss and stairs" was - maybe some new breathing technique?? I had a vision of you running up and down the stairs, hissing like a snake the whole way.
-
Ruth and a Wonderland- great pictures.
I did week 5 day 1 of couch to 5k yesterday morning. It was jog for 8 minutes and walk for 2 min for 3 times. I actually jogged a total of 24 minutes. I cannot believe it.
It was our 26th wedding anniversary so then I proceeded to eat lots of food!
I am heading to a lake for a swim workout in about an hour.
-
Hi, Mary!! I am laughing so hard! I am constantly misspelling words!! I meant hills and stairs!! But in California, no one would notice if I was hissing like a snake, he,he,he!!! Just came back from walking at the mall!! I hope pushing the stroller helps my core muscles!!!
-
Does anyone here have a survivor fitness class they are going to? I went to one a few months ago, but I had to stop going because it was at the same time as my internship during the day. It was a lot of fun. There was also a survivor yoga. Wish I could go again. :-/

Still reliving last weekend. I still can't believe I made it through 6 hours of temps in the mid 90s to near 100 on Saturday. And then cycled 95 more miles on Sunday when I was dog tired. Back to normal which means crazy busy. Started today with an interview for possible contract work. I think I have won the first project. The gig is "design consultant" for a market research firm. I think of myself as doing reporting, but of course, I am successful because I also have the design skills. The funniest is that is what I did for performance metrics in corporate about 20 years ago. I think they still use some of the work I did.
Anyway, this is me waiting for the bus back to Seattle. Note the ginormous cup of coffee. The guy did call me and we had an interesting chat. So we will see on that front as well.
I am heading home to my new wicker chairs. I think the only way to really test them is with a gin and tonic. Now THERE is an idea I can go for. - Claire
p.s. Note that I am wearing the Finisher badge

-
Claire, that is such an accomplishment and you should be dang proud! Bask in all the glory for as long as you can.
Welcome andreamia! You have a very handsome fur baby there..
Today's exercise was bootcamp followed by some relaxation in the hot tub before the heat kicks in again...
Happy Friday ladies!!
-
Welcome Andreamia those sure are cute fur babies you have, I was never able to go to any of the classes the hospital I went to had as they were always in the middle of the day when I'm working. Claire fabulous accomplishment and great picture. Kathy I thought you'd invented a new kind of exercise Mary that is very clever, I have so many danged passwords I can't remember what goes where, my new password would be something like 'Iwouldliketolose20lbsbutilikecaketoomuch'
Body Jam class tonight, it was our instructors birthday so after class, guess what, we had cupcakes
-
Claire - what a triumph! Wear that finisher badge proudly. And you deserve every drop of that gin and tonic!!
Had a dentist appt at yesterday afternoon, and since it was only a mile away and a beautiful day, I decided to walk there and back Then it was still so nice when I got home that I took Mikey for an extra long walk. Absolutely loving this beautiful weather - the Sculpted Sisters who came to DC know all too well that our normal July weather is hazy, hot and humid, with temps near 100! As the weather guy on TV said this morning, "Open your windows and let Canada in!"
Badger - my Nats and your Brewers tangle this weekend - may the best team win (as long as it's the Nats). We have tix for Sunday's game - and Ruth, it's the Denard Span bobblehead game, so I'll be sure to send you our extra one next week!
Half hour of weights this morning.
-
Wow, thanks!
-
A trick on passwords. I keep mine in a folder in my email called "Passwords". Has saved my bacon countless times. Besides the normal ones, I have at least 20 work-related ones and of course all the cycling sites.
-
Andreamia, we started here in the hinterlands of kent (a vast area of countryside of no extras for women with bc) a pink pilates (we do more yoga than pilates) once a week class for any woman in treatment or out. We enjoy it and now we stop for six weeks with kids off school and will start up again in September. Nice dog by the way. Claire, can't miss the coffee (or is it really early morning mother's ruin?) and I read that this was your 8th Seattle to Portland? NatsFan, have fun bobbleheading and Ruth, nice photo of your walking group and Cheryl, good on you for keeping to lower impact.
Super hot day here and stroms are due to arrive at dawn - oh shucks, it been just the weather I love best! Last day of school today and now summer can really start.
Power step and body balance at the gym this morning.
-
Welcome Andreamia. I did cancer yoga classes and I really started to like them. The teacher I liked quit so then I wasn't as interested. At the same time, I started a cancer survivor program at my local fitness center. You got a few training session and then three months free membership, which is actually up on Monday! It worked out well for me because as someone else mentioned, all the dang classes are for non-working people. I think I'll get by for summer when I can walk, run, and bike outside and I have some light weights at home. Once fall comes, I'll have to join a gym, but a cheaper gym than this one.
Claire, was that the younger man that called you? Do tell.
Ruth, I enjoyed the pictures of you and Wonderland. It looks like you had a good vacation.
East coasters enjoy the cool weather. You'll be warming up by Monday or so since it seems your weather is the day after ours. I enjoyed the cool weather, but really not interested in having permanent autumn yet. I'll see if I say that on Monday when it hits 92!
I walked 42 minutes this evening. I have a little to catch up this week because I took three days off! Planning on going for a walk around the lake in the morning and then I'll have lawn to mow too.
-
Good workout today. My trainer said I'd have full ROM before stage 2 surgery and he was so right. Feels good.
-
Did Insanity this morning, put on a pilates DVD this afternoon, and went to a baseball game tonight. Lucky me, tomorrow DH & I get up at the crack of dawn, drive 6 hours, attend a family wedding, stay overnight, get up Sunday & drive 6 hours home again. BLAH!
-
I forgot to report in the last few days. Wednesday I got in 10,000 steps just living. Thursday brisk walk about 40 minutes. Friday no workout. Today 40 minute brisk walk again.
-
I worked so hard today my iphone app can't keep up with me! I drained the battery and it shut down. LOL What it said was 45 minute walk around the lake. Then I came home and mowed the lawn for 1 hr 15 minutes, although it was probably closer to 1 hour 30. I really was tired after doing the front lawn, but I decided I'd rather get the back done too because we have hot weather moving in and my son and husband have been sick so they can't help. So I pushed on. I'm officially done exercising for the day and maybe even the whole weekend! We'll see what tomorrow brings.
-
hi ladies, been away few days but all caught up now. Walked after work most nights this past week and also this morning. Logging 15 miles since last post.
Loved the pix esp the ladies @ tea, Wonderland & Ruth!
Had supper last night with mom and as I was leaving, she was headed to the pub to watch the Brewers/Nats baseball game. I'm like no they just played, are you sure? Then I read the paper this morning and she was right. huh. Mary did you say you'd be at tonight's game or tomorrow's?
welcome 3TA! ♥ to all
-
Today's workout was four hours of weeding and yard work. Exhausted and dirty.
-
Thanks for the comments on my pup everyone! She is a two year old lab/border collie mix so she loves to run. She has gone with me every day this past week and each run has been over three miles. I took the day off today from running, but I did do a lot of sprinting around with her through a dog agility course. I was sweatin, so it counts! I have a fitbit one and really need to start using it again to count my steps. I use the nike run app on my phone to log my miles ran.
-
Andreamia my problem is I keep forgetting to wear my Fitbit, I put it on the bed this morning to put it on when I got dressed, it's still there! Sweet glad you are moving again. Badger you should know 'Mother is always right'
Had one of those nights last night, I know I saw 4.30am so I got two hours sleep as I had made arrangements to meet a friend to workout we drove to another city and did 'Cardio Dance Party' then jumped in the car drove to another gym and did 'Body Combat', got home and spent the afternoon napping on the couch so I'll probably be up all night caiuse now I'm not tired!
-
Mornin' Glories! Got out early and walked my 2.5 mile route.
Pot luck @ work tomorrow so I'm baking something yummy. Not sure what yet but I have some lovely fresh rhubarb, strawberries, red & black raspberries, all from friends with abundant gardens. Zucchini coming soon then tomatoes! Supper tonight: chicken marsala with mushroom risotto and beet/pear salad.
Happy Sunday! ♥ to all
-
Badger, enjoy your potluck tomorrow! And whatever you make, will be yummy with all the fresh fruit you have!! It is early here, but your dinner menu is making me hungry!!
Swimming and walking yesterday, and more walking today!!!
-
One hour 15 minute walk. I walked all the way around the lake and it was so beautiful that I didn't want to leave so I walked another short route. Now I'm going to go pick strawberries so I'll be doing a few squats!
-
Made a lovely Sunday lunch and took a 5k walk with our friend who
is here in the UK for 6 weeks. She is truly an amazing woman and my oldest
girlfriend at 84 years young. I dropped her back at the highspeed train
to London and we both said, see you in Atlanta - where we will meet up next summer. -
Cheryl: Hope you sleep better tonight!
Badger: Your supper sounds delicious!
TwoHobbies: Enjoy your strawberries!
LB: Glad you had a good time with your friend!
Good evening all. I power walked/jogged this afternoon. Went to a wedding this evening and undid my walk with all the wonderful food that was served.
-
This morning drove down to San Diego to have lunch with the San Diego BCO group but being the virtuous person I am I found an RPM class that started at 10.30am was 45 minutes long and was a 10 minute drive from the restaurant we have lunch at, factor in a quick shower and I was only 10 minutes late for lunch and got to hang with _Ann_ as an added bonus
-
Fun!
Went to the fun family wedding; did a little dancing at the reception, other than that all I did was sit in the car, visit, eat, visit some more, eat some more, sit in the car some more....tired!
-
Welcome, Andreamia! Wonderland, love your pictures with Ruth. Sweet&Special, I'm so happy to hear you're finally feeling better. RedReading, congratulations on your first hoop!
I don't think I've posted for a few days. Getting over a bad cold. Finally quit coughing but still have fluid in one ear. Very annoying. It will be such a relief when it finally clears. I took some walks, did quite a bit of hooping, and did my shoulder rehab most days. I found a new local hoop group that meets at the beach. Nice bunch.
-
thought i'd just write a few words today.. discovered the joy of exercise videos on youtube and now my tv and I are good friends!
Sweating it out this morning was good! Makes me feel alive even though i'm doing very simple/basic moves and when the video is a bit challenging, i just sit down for a while to rest and continue!
HAppY exercising all, and i just love this thread!
