a message to you all

Options

I just wanted to say thanks, didn't know where to put it, but  figured this would do. Over the last few months, because of this site, I have been given the chance to meet women who laugh like cray craywhen they are going through ca ca; women who patiently spend many hours helping others even when they themselves are in the middle of what could only be described as a painful situation;women who express their fears and allow others to do so;women who talk about the most intimate details of their bodies in a way that would make a sailor blush - but do so to help themselves and others, and women who whine for really good reasons and then laugh at their own whininess.

I don't know whether you all should be called survivors, or fighters, or warriors - don't know if this is a journey or if courageous is a good word to describe anybody - all I know is that you are all very wonderful.

Getting to know awesome (mostly) ladies from all over the world.....people I never would have met under any other circumstances, is definitely the gold (not silver) lining of the whole experience for me. I never would have believed that something so good could come out of something so bad.

Ziggy:  So well put! The women on these boards have become my "friends" and they have carried me through this ordeal.  My friends at home are wonderful, but they cannot provide such insight, experience and emotional support, although they do try.  When I am with my friends, I find myself wanting to talk about my dear friends from BCO and have caught myself talking about Ariom, Percy, Beesie, etc. like they should know who I am talking about. As much as I love my friends at home, when I have been in the scariest places and need inspiration, it has been my BCO friends who have gotten me through those times.  Laying on the OR table just before they started my surgery, I thought of the ladies here who went through this before me and from them I gathered strength.  Laying on another table waiting for the first radiation rays to strike my chest wall and wanting to bolt, the brave words of others who have struggled with the decision as to whether or not have radiation, kept me still.  I truly do not know how I would have gotten this far without all of you.

Ziggy, beautifully written and absolutely true. I always read your posts, you always have great advice and can calm even the most frightened new member, or help someone through a difficult procedure or treatment.

I am so grateful to those who came to my aid when I stumbled in here in late 2012, and I love the interaction we all have, as we get to know each other and run into each other on the different threads.

I love the idea of being able to "Pay it Forward" it is a wonderful circle of compassionate women, reaching out to each other from all over the world, when we're at our lowest and most afraid. Knowing that the people here, just "Get" it, without judgement, is priceless.

TB, I do that too! I speak of all of you, as though we have just had a coffee together!

Ziggy and others, ditto. I think the words 'coping' or 'living' with bc may be satisfactory descriptions.

The women (and men) on this site are amazingly intelligent and well informed, and across the world, we share the same fundamental human values.

    This site is indeed awesome!

ziggypop - such a heartwarming post; back at ya' thanks. I have said in my posts that this forum is my lifeline; it was and still is. Nowhere else can you express your feelings and know that everyone in some way knows exactly how you feel. Then there is the lighter side of comparing notes and just chatting about someone else's day from women all over the world. That is so comforting and amazing.  I have even found myself being emotional over reading about the highs and lows from women I have never met except through this forum but we have truly bonded and I want to say thanks too for making this difficult journey a whole lot easier. Diane

Ziggy,  I am a newbie here, but have drawn strength from reading through your posts.  I hope to make some new friends here, as it is a comfort to know that I can express how I feel and know that there is some lady somewhere feeling the same way.  I appreciate having the positive inspiration and strength that I get here.

    Thanks to all...
