Finally some good news for me

So let's see - on Tuesday I had an ultrasound on my left breast (the unaffected one).  It came back completely normal.  YAY.

On Wednesday as some of you know I had a bone scan and was completely freaked out because the tech told me there was a spot on my lower spine.  Turns out it's degenerative changes - not nasty C.

On Thursday I had a pet/ct scan.  There were some teeny tiny nodules that showed in my lungs, but apparently a lot of people have them and there is no cause for concern - not cancer

Today I met with the cardiologist.  What a guy!!!!  After talking to me and seeing how stressed I was about all of my scans (hadn't gotten the results back yet) he told them to me.  He also wants me to go to a doctor there that sees people with stress/anxiety/chemo/cancer.  He thinks I would be a perfect candidate.  We did an echo and e k g and all was well other than my heart beats a little fast - he thinks from all the stress.  He said the blood flow out of my heart is really, really good so YAY.  He also told me he looked at the Pet/ct scan and saw no plaque in my arteries woo hoo (I was worried because my father died from a heart attack and my brother just had quadruple bypass surgery.

My MO called and said she was happy with the results.  I am so relieved.  I could tell my husband was too although I think he's even more thrilled I'm going to be going to a stress management class in the Fall. LOL  I am quite the anxiety basket case at times.

Thank you - for once I feel like a normal person again - haven't felt that way since somebody mentioned I had nasty C.  I can do this chemo, radiation thing now.  Okay, I say that now - check back in a week when I have to go in LOL

I appreciate all of the support from everyone.  It really means a lot.

    Nancy

just wanted to add support--you are not abnormal--this anxiety is real--if you can find a way through the class to harness it, please come back and tell us how to do it...

In my chest ct this spring, due to constant colds over the winter- they saw a 6mm nodule on my lung.  The pulmonolgist told me that this is very common and lots of people have them---I will see him again in August to look again--but he does not suspect this is anything but a nodule and I think he is right. Our bodies create nodules sometimes to fight infection (which I am sure was happening in my body).  But, there are some people who just have nodules-- I have several friends with that.  Isn't it nice that you have a strong heart and everything esle is good.  You will walk through this-- and 12 months from now it will be completely in the rear view mirror.  thanks for sharing the good news!!!!

I had A/C- once every other week for 4 weeks.  I was treated on a Friday, and usually  my "not so great" day was Tuesday---but everyone is different.  I was able to go to work most days--- it was not pleasant but i now barely remember it.... if you follow their instructions, you should not have too much trouble....

    Keep us posted.

I let the anxiety go on too long. The worst was when I started having all day panic attacks about 3 mo post dx. Ladies - do what you can to manage the stress. It takes a toll as well. Hugs!

Thanks everyone and Jill for checking in.  I am just seeing this now.  I'm doing ok - much better than I was.  Chemo is on Tuesday and all I have to say to that is YUCK.  I am doing a treadmill test tomorrow because I was so freaked out last Friday (not knowing the scan results) and the cardiologist thought it would be a good idea.
