Received my results from biopsy today.

IDC stage 2a E+ P+ HER2+

Getting port tomorrow morning and will meet with oncologist.  Chemo is first to determine how long, etc.  Still trying to wrap my head around all the terminology on the pathology report.    Will be getting genetic testing done and having an ultra sound on right arm to check lymph nods (next Tuesday) which as of Monday when biopsy was done they looked good.

Looking for any advice, words of wisdoms from all you wonderful sisters!

oceanbreeze - sorry you are in the club - this is a good thread for you based on your receptor status/Her2.  There are a number of us who have been through surgery and treatment who can answer your questions as they come up:

Hi Oceanbreeze - I am so sorry.  We all know exactly how you feel.  Please know that for most, the initial diagnosis is the worst part.  It gets easier as you move through treatment and come to terms with the challenges of your life.  Please make certain your oncologist explains every detail of your pathology report to you.  Most women are ER & PR positive and it means you may benefit from hormone treatment which greatly reduces the risk of recurrence.  Please join one of the threads on here for the women who are HER2+.  There are targeted therapies that are highly effective.  I did chemo.  It's not fun but we get through it.  I avoided alopecia by using cold caps to prevent hair loss.  There is a very active thread on here to discuss cold caps.  This website and the women on here have kept me relatively sane during a very hard time in my life.  This place may become an important support network for you from which friendships may grow.  Please pm me if I can help.

My diagnosis is different than yours, so I don't know as much about your details as I do mine.  We aren't making a treatment plan until after my lymph biopsy comes back, but that's because there's a chance it might not be heavily recommended.  I'm only 2 weeks post-dx, so easier for me?  Yeah, a bit.  But I'm also recovering from a full right mastectomy, so I have nothing much else to do.  My thoughts are with you.  Learn as much as you can in the short time you have to make decisions.  We've got your back here...
