By this, I mean what exercises we can do?  Whether or not we can swim?  Showering?  Infection control?  Stuff like that.  And a list of what we can/cannot do during each step?  for example: after expanders put in, after fills put in, after exchange surgery, etc.  Because I am sure it is different depending on what stage you're at.  I think it would be a good idea, because I am sure that many people have to scroll through all the posts to find what they're looking for instead of having it in one central place.  Just an idea, thanks for considering.

I think one issue with dos and don'ts is that every surgeon will have their own particular rules, and that even may differ from patient to particular patient depending on the nature of the surgery and the details of the case.

I'm not there yet, myself, but I used to work on a plastics surgery unit, and the surgeons' word was the law!

I agree with Morwenna - each doc has pretty specific instructions so what works for one might differ substantially from another.  It is important that one follows the instructions from their specific doc and situation, not what another patient's doctor advises.  In the topic are things that take place pretty soon after surgery so this is especially important.

okay, i see what you mean.  the problem is that i always forget.  i need to bring a pen/paper and write stuff down at my next visit, and not let them rush me..

Can you record your appointment with a cell phone or a small tape recorder?

maybe.  last appt. was rushed due to day before holiday, and shortage of personnel.  i see the PA on thursday, and will ask some more questions then.  not sure if i am getting a fill or just to see if remaining drain can be pulled and to check if my infection healing.
