    cp418. Seems like there is a clear link and there is a growing understanding about it. I think oncologists should all be tracking cholesterol levels at this point. I know mine does. 

    I think the main the reason that high lignan intake is associated w/ lower cancer, is because it lowers cholesterol levels.

    Flaxseeds are rich in lignans and known to lower cholesterol. The research on them was iffy for awhile. I use flax but make sure I don't go overboard and stay under a couple of tablespoons daily. I am still always looking for new research regarding flax and breast cancer due to previous controversy. Seems they can be considered protective in reasonable quantities. There are other foods rich in lignans if we still want to avoid flax and receive some protection from cholesterol lowering lignans.

    yet my cholesterol was perfect.  Even after the wretched AIs and tamoxifen that flung me into early menopause, I have good cholesterol values.  My sister, who has elevated cholesterol, does not have cancer.

    I am a study of 2.  CRAP SHOOT.
