Wednesday Weigh In

Happy birthday, Annie! Wow, what a stream of events. I wouldn't worry about weight at this point.
-
Annie, happy birthday! Sorry for all the negative you have been dealing with. To both you and everyone else who is happy with their weight, more power to you! I wish I could say the same, but I am not happy with my pudgy physique - middle age spread and too many extra pounds = massive muffin top when sitting. So I continue to work at it, with the gym/trainer, trying to lose weight, and generally being more active than sedentary. All this contributes to me feeling pretty good, but still the excess pounds just seem to cling.
So I will not make my 5 by the 4th goal either - weighed in this morning at 158, which is down 1.5 from where I started this challenge, and down .5 from last Wednesday. I was pleasantly surprised I lost, since I was away for the weekend and not eating sensibly.
Have any of you tried a meltdown challenge? I received an invitation to do one today from a former colleague in home party sales now turned health coach. I emailed her for more info, but I guess you ante up $20, then have a month to lose 4% of your body weight - anyone who reaches their goal shares in the pot of money. Apparently lots of online encouragement and tools once you ante up - I'm considering doing it as the cost is small, and maybe switching things up will get me a little closer to my goal weight.
-
I weigh exactly the same as last week, which means I dodged a bullet and I'm happy with that.
-
I am being bad, bad, bad.....many excuses, but that is just what they are....excuses. Where is the crying emoticon when you need it?
-
Stayed the same again: 131.5. Actually I should be grateful because it was higher after the weekend.
-
I'm definitely not making the 5 by the 4th -- just glad I've held my own and not gained!
-
I miss the embarrassed emoticon which is why I didn't post this week. Not because there is no emb. emoticon but because I AM embarrassed.
-
Well, I didn't make the 5 by the 4th either. Actually, I only lost one pound. I did decide to sign up for the meltdown challenge to see if that helps, it started today for a month. I'm trying to lose 4% of my body weight to win the challenge. This is all new to me so I will let you know how it goes.
-
Wow! This image will make me vey happy when I lose a pound or two, and very disturbed if I gain a couple!!!
-
134.2 down, but can't remember how much.OMG, fat is just plain gross!
-
Wow, Ruth, that is a motivator if ever I saw one - yuk! Unfortunately I gained back that one gross pound this week.
-
Years back I used to watch surgeries on the Discovery channel. I could watch all kinds except liposuction because of the look of the fat they collected.
-
No change this week. Working hard at my meltdown challenge, hopefully I will start seeing some weight come off.
-
Well, I'm bummed! Sunday and Monday I weighed 130.5 which would be a 1 lb loss. Today I weighed 132.5 which is a 1 lb gain. Grrrrr.
-
Started walking daily and tracking my food on My Fitness Pal. Hopefully that will get the scale moving in the right direction. Currently at 175.4.
-
On vacation this week, getting lots of exercise but also eating tons... Yikes
-
Have fun, ruthbru!
I've been MIA for a while. DH and I are spending July and August in MN, using our 5th wheel camper as a cottage. We're riding our bikes twice a week and golfing twice a week, plus I try to walk 3 miles on the other days. But I weighed 162.5 this morning, up 3 or 4 lbs the last month. I have to get back on my ww plan. My goal this summer is not to gain back the 10 to 12 lbs I lost this spring.
Why are lbs SO-O-O much easier to gain back than to lose? It ain't fair!
-
I can't lose 1 pound.. I am so fat its depressing..
-
Nancy, we have all been where you are at one time or another. But we have to keep at it and support one another. Not sure where you are in your journey, but perhaps start focusing on a healthy choice or two in your life, like walking around the block every day, or substituting water for soda, etc. Try to do that one thing for a month, then add something new every month, and before too long I think you will begin to see a change in the way you feel and the way you look. Good luck, and hope you check back here for encourragement and support.
-
thanks Pat for the encouraging suggestions..
-
158, no change from last week. I told you all I joined that meltdown challenge - not sure if I would do it again. There are many people doing it, and you earn points by reading and listening to motivational speeches, drinking water, and keeping a food and exercise log, etc. It's fine, but I'm finding if you ask a question about something technical, you never get an answer. And really you guys are much more encouraging to me. I'll keep at it and see if I can get to my challenge "goal" weight by August 7, but I don't think it is turning out to be as much of a motivator as I thought it would be.
-
I'm not stepping on the scales today. Ha, we all know what I've been up to. :P
-
I had another 60 cc fill yesterday and a fun day of shopping (and eating) with my sister who went to my PS appointment with me? Can I blame my two pound weight gain on the fill? My exchange will be in a few months. I still have time to get serious. Today's weight 177.4.
-
Today was 131. That's 1.5 down from last week which was freakishly high. I'm totally brain dead from getting up in the night to feed bottle baby kittens. If I was in this much of a fog when my kids were babies, I'm surprised they lived.
-
Not weighing either, just got back from a vacation at my sister's......she is the most wonderful, fattening cook in America.....lets just say that I had to unzip my jeans (which fit perfectly fine a week ago) on the airplane trip home or I would have exploded in mid-air....OMG!
-
Can I join this group? If so, I thought you could use a giggle
My onc wants me to keep my weight about the same. Before dx and several surgeries I weighed about 195 lbs. Several surgeries and chemo later, I weigh between 147 and 150. I weigh every day on a digital scale. Last week my scale went nuts, and when I stood on it I weighed 331.8!! I changed the battery, but the silly scale insisted I weighed 331.8! My daughter says she will NEVER stand on my scale again! LOL! Hubby was kind enough to go out and buy me a new scale. Thankfully I am back to 147lb. I was previously a sugar addict, so I have to try very hard to avoid the sweets. Any suggestions?
-
Welcome birdlady! I can't have sweets in the house, too tempting for me!
-
Thanks, Ruthbru! I can't have sweets in the house either! I am not driving, so I rely on what my husband brings home for us. He tries to keep us eating healthy, and I am very thankful for that. When the kids come home to visit(as they are this weekend) the junk comes into the house. When they leave I insist that they take all of that stuff with them, so I won't eat it.I am excited to see my kids and my baby granddaughter this weekend! Family visits are the BEST medicine for me
-
158, no change since last week. Not much exercising either, but I do feel like I have plateaued again in weight loss. As long as I don't start gaining!
-
146 today. Lost a pound, but I had Faslodex/Zometa treatment on Monday. That always throws my appetite way off. I have to drink Ensure just to make sure I get enough protein and nutrients. Doctor doesn't want me losing any more weight so I need to just try to hold my own and stay level.
