PIC of problem area....possible IBC????

I started another post, but found a generic internet picture of what my left breast looks like. I don't have that yellow pin prick looking thing in the center though. Otherwise, this is EXACTLY what my left breast looks like. About the size of a quarter. Dr. says it's completely superficial, but 4 days of antibiotics have done nothing!!!!

    Hello Proudmomof4. I can only tell you that does not look at all how my IBC presented. If you continue to have problems or are very worried, only a biopsy can confirm cancer, and I so hope you find it is not cancer. Again, if it helps, not at all like mine. But we are all different, and only a doctor can diagnose you. Are you still taing antibiotics? Are you going to see the dr. again?

    I am still taking the antibiotics.  I will be calling my doctor in the morning.  The doctor I saw over the weekend was not my family doctor.  My pcp specializes in women's health, so I am hoping she is familiar with ibc

    Members on this forum are not able to diagnose your condition from photos but you need to wait until you see your doctor as is only possible to be diagnosed by a professional, and the antibiotics may not be the right ones for your problem. We hope you can wait until then and not assume the worst. We are glad you are going to your Doctor, that is the best action.

    No one can tell you what is going on!  NO one is medical staff seeing you.  There are so MANY possibilities as tp what is going on - especially from a "generic internet picture" that appears to be some sort of an insect/spider bite as it appears to have a center core or other skin issue.  Skin issues can be very persistant and take quite a while to completely resolve.

    IBC is rare - skin issues on breast are quite common.  IBC does not always ever present with skin reddeness - mine never did.

    Went to an ob/gyn who called in another doctor who then called in a general surgeon. The surgeon did a biopsy. Here is the most recent picture of my actual breast. The center was a raised red dot (shiny), but that is now stitches....

    Mom,

    So happy you saw the doctors and had the biopsy.  That's the best way to find out what's going on.  I'm keeping you in my thoughts and hoping for benign results.

    Thank you so much for your replies.  I know no one on here can diagnose me.  I guess I am just wondering if anyone else's Inflammatory Breast Cancer started out looking like this??  Or any kind of breast cancer?

    My IBC never looked anything like your picture.  I never had any redness.  The first 'sign' was a lymph node under arm that literally was not there one night but the next night was the size of an almond.  It greatly enlarged in the week it took me to get into see my PA (she was on vacation and I didn't want to see anyone else).  I saw her at 11 and was at the Radiology Clinic at 1 for a new mammo, which turned in to a sono and biopsies.  I had the path. report the next morning at 8 - IBC.    In the 17 days between DX amd starting neoadjuvant chemo, the node continued to enlarge, breast enlarged, nipple inverted and peau d'orange developed.  There never was any redness, pain or itchiness.

    We are each so unique; there is no 'One Size Fits All' as to how our body reacts to anything.  There are hard and fast 'rules' that any type of BC has to follow with how it presents always.  Yes, there are some usual 'signs' that can go along with different types, but it can present differently with different individuals.

    Hi, can you tell me what yours ended up being? I got something that looks just like this a few days ago and am trying not to freak out. Normally I’d go right to the doctor, but because of Covid I am avoiding that as much as possible.

    This is a very old thread. Since proudmomof4 never returned after her biopsy, I think it's safe to assume that she did not have breast cancer.

    Please call your doctor - I've been to so many appointments in and around Cleveland, Pittsburgh and locally in central PA since March. The medical centers and satellite offices are doing really well with safety protocols. Wear a mask, keep your distance from any others in the waiting areas (and they are keeping people distanced), carry an antibacterial hand wipe in and out of the office with you if you go in person and change your clothes when you get home. I hear your concern - call your doc...
