We are home, laundry's in process, and I've been to the grocery store, so the routine starts again. We had a washer and dryer at the beach house, but DIL kept it going washing cloth diapers! She made most them along with cute diaper covers, and I know they're less expensive. As long as I don't have to change them it's fine with me.
Lilyrose, we were at Oak Island, well south of the outer banks. It's about 3 hours from here as opposed to over 6 hours for the outer banks, which is quite a long trip for the 3 grandchildren. DH goes fishing at the outer banks every October anyhow. Actually, most of the well known areas (Kitty Hawk, Nags Head, Kill Devil Hills, for example) are every bit as crowded and built up as Myrtle Beach in SC is. And we're fortunate enough to see our grands all the time. We keep the oldest, 5 year old Logan, on Monday and Wednesdays, and are usually available to keep his 18 month old brother Aiden, as well as DD's 10 month old Anna, whenever they need a baby sitter.
Alyson, I've lost the post about your pain but I hope it improves very soon.
Hooray for you Chrissy, driving!
Back later, ladies.
Kathy
PS--Here's some irony: when we opened the garage door upon arrival home, the now familiar dead bird smell greeted us! We think we must have closed a bird up when we left but haven't found it yet. Wouldn't you just know!
-
I'm not the one holding the camera in those shots as they are cell phone shots. I don't take people pictures anyway.
-
Welcome home Kathy! Are you SURE it's dead bird you're smelling???? And not another kind of dead animal? Maybe you're just used to smelling bird. Could it be old garbage not taken out?
-
I don't know, Barbe. But, we'd certainly become accustomed to smelling dead bird! I just feel sorry for the people who have the house after us.

Hi ya Girls!!
Ooo Kathy, what greeting to have the smell of dead bird! Yuk!!!!! Sure hope you find the offending body, what ever it is, so the smell can dissipate soon. Yes, when you get home there is always laundry to be done and food to be bought so we as women are thrown back into reality very quickly.......hope you enjoyed your time at the beach anyway. Oh, cudos to your daughter? for making the cloth diapers.......I so wish many more young moms would do the same but it seems that they don't want to do the laundry.
Barbe I so wish your children knew the hurt they have caused you with their attitudes. I could really kick your son in the pants for being so mean as to have five years of photos on an album and not a single one of you with the grands..........that to me is the meanest thing ever!!!!! (((((hugs))))))
I actually hate having my picture taken and there are very few of me when I was younger but I do allow pics to be taken when my grands are involved. I guess those pics will be very few and far between now as they are growing into young men........but I will admit that I still get hugs from them when ever I see them.
Lily, yes, you are right......lol......not much keeps me down for long and I do have a tendency to push my way through maybe a little before I should....hahahahaha! Can't bear being an invalid so lord knows what will happen as my cancer spreads ..........oh well, I guess I just have to keep it at bey for as long as possible.
It's a cold, wet and windy day here.........typical winter day and thank goodness I have the fire that warms the whole house........I can sit with my laptop on my lap in warm comfort.....hahahaha!
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Twice we had a dead mouse inside the walls of our house. Just have to wait till the smell goes away
Better than knocking a few walls out trying to find it. I just shut the door and opened the window.
I still can't go up or down steps. Guess that is the last thing. My PT told me the large muscle in my upper leg was shocked into not functioning so the idea is to get it back but not too fast or it would stop again.
My idea of having a stress free and easy summer is fast going away. Somehow my calendar just fills up so darn fast. The weather has been perfect. Sunny and seventies. Tomorrow I am just going to sit by our pool and veg.
-
There is the tree branch from our neighbors tree that fell into our back yard.
-
Oh Lisa, I didn't realize you'd hurt yourself! What did I miss? Hugs to you, as I know you love to wander.
Did you have wind that knocked the branch off, or was it just old? Close call, eh? (And yes, we Canadians even type "eh")
-
Lisa that's a decent sized branch.....thank goodness you weren't near when it fell, you have had enough injury for the year. Take it easy and enjoy your day!
Lol Barbe, you can always make me laugh.......I think we all say and type 'eh'.
Getting late here and almost time for me to seek my bed. I will finish my cup of tea, make a bathroom stop and head in that direction. Have a good day all!
Love n hugs. Chrissy

I don't know how but I have managed to lose a couple of kilo since having the op, not that I'm complaining.......lol......just can't figure out how it's happened. Maybe now that trend has started I can keep it going and lose a bit more.......here's hoping anyway!
Take it easy all!
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Chrissy, having it harder to walk to the fridge to poke around may be helping you after all! I get bored and cruise the kitchen just to see if perchance anything interesting has arrived unbeknownst to me. Always a surprise to find a treat I forgot about! heheheheh
-
Yes Barbe, I do do that.....lol......but I have been a good girl for a long time now and my fridge offers me fruit, veg, cheese and yogurt. I sometimes have some snack crackers in the cupboard but that's it........boring! I said to DH tonight when he bought up our dessert, that when I return to cooking there will be no more dessert so he'd better make the most of it.
Well, I have done it! I went to the car this afternoon, got behind the wheel, drove up and down the driveway for a bit then backed out and did a trip around the block!.......yipeeeee!!!!.......I am mobile again!!!! woohoooo!!! Can you tell I'm just a little bit excited and happy about it?!
Stay cool all!
Love n hugs. Chrissy
