Jo........Happy trails..............
-
Jo, I would love to hear about your popup camper. Is it a tent trailer? We recently sold our motorhome because it just got too expensive. We miss camping though and are thinking about getting a tent trailer.
-
Did I just read ROAD TRIP?????
-
lol kracker
-
Slow - I am going to try and send the link to the dealership where we bought our popup. It will allow you to look at the pictures of the inside and out. There are about 25 pictures in all. We decided to buy one of these instead of a travel travel because it is less expensive and would be better on gas towing it. This is the one we actually purchased.

FK - LOL! You are so funny. We are talking about my upcoming road trip. You can come along if you want to.
-
I like that one Jo!
We used to have a Jayco travel trailer - we really liked Jayco. We traded that in for the MH which we had for two years. Now we'd like to get something that we can keep in our garage. We got tired of paying storage fees and the maintenance was just too much for us. Does the bathroom actually close off from the rest of the unit? I'm kind of funny about my bathroom.
-
Slow - The bathroom is fully enclosed. Once you unfold the sides and back, there is a separate door that attaches to the front. You have all the privacy you need. We have decided we probably won't use the shower until it is an emergency. It is quite small and we only have a 4 gallon hot water tank. In our first 5th wheel, the hot water tank was small and I would have to keep turning the water on and off during my shower. You may know the drill, get wet, turn water off, soap off, rinse off, water off, etc. That is a pain in the rear. We will try to get sites close to the campground bathrooms whenever we can. I can go there to shower but do the rest of my stuff in the camper. It also comes with a privacy curtain you can put up in front of the bathroom and around the counter. The end bunk is open but the curtains are closed so it leaves you plenty of room to move around and get dressed.
Motorhomes are so nice but if we bought one, we wouldn't be able to afford to move it out of the driveway.
-
It sounds and looks nice Jo. Once I'm done with treatment we will start looking.
I know what you mean about the MH. Between gas, maintenance, storage, insurance and camping fees, it was bleeding us dry. I'm happy for the experience though. We got to visit so many fun places, and we really did enjoy it while it was ours. My husband wants to get a tent, but that's just a bit too campy for me at this stage of the game. I'd get down in the bed and never be able to get back up!! A tent trailer sound like a good compromise.
-
Slow - I was surprised at the cost of insurance for the camper. It was added to our truck policy and was less than $100.00 for the year. We started out many years ago tent camping and there is no way I would do it now. I don't think I would be able to get up out of the either. Plus, I have to admit, I am spoiled after having an RV and want the AC, micro, etc.
-
That cost isn't bad at all. Wouldn't it be a hoot to have a BCO camping trip????!!!
-
I no I'm not crazy
There is a post from Joan saying we would/ could/ should do a road trip,on the TOL thread

-

Think of a few nice words will ua???????
-
FK - Ducky's pictures say it all. I would hate to be in her shoes right now. Especially since I know you are from Brooklyn. Yikes!!!
Slow - We are getting out of Texas and making stops in TN, KY, OH and maybe FL. We are making the rounds and seeing some of the family. First stop will be in TN to see a brother in law, then to see a good friend in KY, on to OH to visit my aunt, back to TN to see the Great Smoky Mountains. FL may be our last stop to see another brother in law. Nothing is set in stone and we really don't have any idea how long we will be gone. Just going to have fun.
-
Good Morning Goddesses,
Jo, that sounds like so much fun!! I just love road trips. My husband and I have plans to go to Washington state in September. I'm waiting for my Herceptin to be finished. This year is the longest we've gone without going somewhere. Next year we are talking about a trip east. I have family in PA, WI, NC, FL and NY. It would be great to be able to see them all!
-
Slow - Seems this year, we are seeing hubby's family. Next summer I want to head west. Never been to the Grand Canyon. I have a brother that lives in So California - Upland. Would like to see him for a few days. And of course, there is Disneyland. We went there 41 years ago on our honeymoon. I can bet we would not recognize the place after all this time. I also have a BCO internet friend I would love to finally meet in person. We have shared so much over the past 4 years - stories, books, had many laughs, bitched, moaned, complained, etc. I feel like she is my long lost sister.
-
Jo, I met with a group of women from BCO last month. It was my first BCO get together and I had such a good time. It looks like they will all be returning next June. If you're around during that time, it would be wonderful if you'd like to join us. It was such a wonderful experience. All such nice ladies.
-
Ok Ducky.....this one is for you....hopefully it will make you laugh. I can't tell you how many times I got the spoon!!!!!!
Edited to add one more to make you laugh:
-
Slow, if you are near Tacoma in September, maybe we can get together. I don't think we are going to take off until October.
