thyroid-today is the day
Well,
we are off to see the surgeon-- I am figuring after 2 chest xrays, ct scan, 3 ultrasounds and a biopsy-- there should be no surprises and we will set a date and get this done. I am worried about possibly having to have the radioactive iodine, but won't know that til after surgery. I am a little peeved that I finally go off femara next Monday and I won't have a minute to enjoy that, and I am concerned about being on the thyroid drugs. Plus, I am so stressed out I am giving myself pain in other parts of my body...
I did go to see a therapist yesterday and she validated (as did many of you) that my reactions were normal--and that my emotions were catching up to my activity (getting surgeon, etc). This helped immensely....
So, those are my concerns. I know intellectually that things will be fine-- and even if I have to do the iodine and the pet scan, I will (but I will be terrified). I just want this to be the end of it, do you know what I mean? I realize none of us know what is coming next and life is not fair, but this is how I feel.....
thanks for letting me vent. I have my questions, my voice recorder and my husband--- I know we can do this......

All
7/10 surgery. Ultrasound showed 1lymph node. She was not sure if it was anything. Surgeon does not think it is. But we agreed to take it out like the sentinel node. Test it during surgery and take more if necessary but if not, then we are done
Have to have the radioactive iodine because 1 nodule was over 1 CM.
Surgeon said "you will do just fine". No major concerns. Still lowest level thyroid and no surprises expected
That's it for now. Thanks for support

Sounds like good news so far. Hoping all is well.
