Lisa that building is lovely! You sure do find the unusual to shoot! Love it!
That day was one of the highlights for me.........I often wish I could do it all over again. Maybe one day.....sigh.

-
What a beautiful planter! I bet you found that in Holland.....the colors give it away.....lol.
-
Seems that most who post in this thread are from far away. Lisa, how did you ever get together with Chrissy and the others? Wilsie
-
You are so smart Chrissy, yes it was
-

-
Wilsie, back in 2011 I did a trip to the USA and went from Philadelphia to LA and it was while I was staying with another BCO member that we went down to San Diego and met up with some of the San Diego ladies at a luncheon. We Had a wonderful day with Lisa being the tour guide and I saw parts of San Diego that maybe I shouldn't have....lol......our secret Lisa......lol.
I did do a travel journal and if you would like to read it I will bump it for you and then you can put it into your favourites so it will be easy to find until you have finished it........it's rather large......lol. Just let me know and I'll do the bumping.
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Chrissy, that would be so nice. I used to travel quite a bit and miss it, but it know that the best part of your trip were the friends you made along the way. I am Stage IV, and would love to take a long trip, but I just get so tired doing the least little thing. Otherwise, I am doing well. Having two no trouble at all grandchildren here has me worn out, and all I have done is some cooking and driving to cousins. Makes me mad that I can't do what I once could, not so long ago. Wilsie
-
I want to read it again Chrissy.
-
yes, me too, chrissy. I read thru some of it, but I would like to try to finish it.
Wilsie, My cousin came over today to tell me how tired she was after hanging around with her two grandchildren. She quoted a man she use to know that would always say ya gotta do what ya gotta do, so you can do what you wantta do. We got a good laugh out of it.
-
-
Okay girls I have bumped it for you so just scroll through the active topics and you will find it.
Love the balloons Lisa! As I have said on many other occasions you seem to be in the right place at the right time to get the best shots and I know how hard that is.
Wilsie I am stage IV as well and I did that trip two years after I was dx stage IV. At that time both my knees were shot and on many occasions I was patted down through airport security because they were so misshapen that they thought I was trying to smuggle something through........I just laughed as they patted me down and then turned red as they realized that they were indeed my knees. They were just doing their job.
I would love to do another USA trip with my knew bionic knees.......wow! what a ball I could have now!! not meaning that I didn't last time but I can see it now, two good knees and I'm raring to go! Watch out world I'm about to be set free!!!.....hahahahaha!
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Hello ladies!
I found this thread after reading all about ChrissyB's USA adventures. She definitely seems like a special lady! I am hoping you all don't mind if I join in here on occasion? I am older, just celebrated my 61st birthday this month, but I don't know about the sense part. LOL I like to think I have some after all these years, but there are times when my kids tell me I'm just plain silly.
Today is a wonderful one for me. We were blessed with a new granddaughter this morning! She is our 12th grandchild. I can't wait to meet her, but I think it will be awhile. I am still in treatment, getting Taxol weekly for another 9 weeks. Plus my daughter lives on the east coast, am I am in Arizona.
ChrissyB, I see that you had knee surgery. I hope you are feeling well. I think I am going to start reading this thread from the beginning, so that I can get to know you all. This could take awhile, I just realized there are over 300 pages!
Wishing you all well. hugs, lilyrose

Welcome Lilyrose. Every new baby is such a miracle; a real affirmation of life. This is a great thread to chat and get to know women from all over the world.
-
I am sore and grumpy. RA, LE, fibro, neuropathy in my feet , I could go on and on. But on the positive side I had a wonderful trip and once again met wonderful people. And I saw my family.
-
lily rose, my grandchildren from Phoenix were here with me for their summer visit. I am in Alabama, they went home yesterday and I sure do miss them. I will go to AZ in the fall for a visit. I think being close to grandchildren is so special. A new baby is such a blessing!
I had echocardiogram this morning and worked all day, so came home pooped. I am not used to being out from 8-5. Dogs were glad to see me, now a glass of wine!
Wilsie

Thanks for the welcome Wren and Wilsie!
I agree about the grandchildren. They are such a blessing!
Wilsie, I lived in Alabama for a short time. We lived in Shelby county. DH still works there quite a bit. So he is gone a lot. I miss seeing all the green back east. I have been in AZ for over 12 years and enjoy living here, but I will always miss my family on the east coast. I hope your echo went well. I look forward to getting to know you!
Hugs, lilyrose

Welcome, Lilyrose! We're on vacation and I'm having Wi-Fi issues, w=but we'll see if this posts.
Kathy
-
Okay, it posted! Somehow, the Wi-Fi connection for this beach cottaqe has problems not even my expert DIL has been able to fix, + I'm on my Windows 8 Laptop and hate Windows 8! But, sincere welcomes to you Lilyrose! We're actually on The Family Vacation with all 3 of our grandchildren and their respective parents and the week has flown by.
This is a beautiful beachfront home, but true to form on our vacations, it has not been without incident. We got here to find the island's been invaded by ants, and the first time we went back to our cars we found that they had also been invaded. Then, we began to hear bird sounds inside the house. Birds had gotten through a vent (with a cap on it) and a wall, where they built a nest and laid eggs. Emailed owner, who contacted a bird rescue here on the island, who determined the birds aren't endangered. Nests got removed, but apparently one chick got left behind. We took it to the rescue this morning. We didn't plan on having to deal with things like exterminators, bird rescue/removal, on vacation!
Think everyone's looking forward to getting back to routine this weekend, including the 2 babies!
Hope all are doing okay! Will check back further tomorrow night.

Kathy, you're going to need a vacation!!!
Welcome lilyrose, I have my four grandsons living within 45 minutes from me and I hardly see them!! The other sets of parents are hours away and the kids make the effort to go visit them and stay for days. I've never spent an overnight with my grands and feel like I'm really missing out. There are years that the other sets of parents actually see the grands more than we do. Do I sound annoyed? Ya, I guess I am.
-
Hi ya Lillyrose! Of course you can join in here, the more the merrier!......lol. Yes, I saw that you read myjourney thread and glad you enjoyed it........I did have such fun. Oooo a new baby, how wonderful!! I just love to feel their little body in my arms and smell that smell that is peculiar only to babies........you lucky girl you......lol. Hope you get to meet the new babe soon. My grands are all grown up and I doubt very much that I'll get anymore so hopefully I'll be around when the greats start to arrive but I know that will be quite a few years away yet......at least ten if not more.
Awe Aly, hate to hear that you are hurting so much after having such a wonderful time in Canada. Stay warm and take it easy until the pain subsides. ((((((((Hugs)))))))). Gentle ones just for you.
Wilsie I hope your echo results are good! Girl what a day for you.....busy, busy! Never mind, the weekend is coming up and you can put your feet up and just relax.
Kathy, I'm with Barbe, you are going to need a vacation to get over your vacation!........lol. Hope you are having fun with your grands and the kids and there are no more interruptions.
Barbe, are the grands from your sons or daughters? I have seen on many occasions that the grands from daughters tends to be closers and see more of her parents than the boys......does that make sense? The grands from my son are closer to her parents and I have to make the effort to go puck him up if I want him to stay he's fifteen now, almost sixteen so I guess even those stay overs will become less and less as he gets older. luckily for me, she never did object to him staying she just didn't think of it. Anyway, that's the way it seems to be but I do hope you get to spend more time with them as time goes on.
Well girls things are improving on a daily basis with the knee and I'm very happy about that......lol. I am now managing to only use one cane inside the house and even potter with a few steps with no stick at all. The leg is gaining strength very quickly now and I can see that I will be back driving within a week or so.....yipeeee! Can't wait for my independence again........lol.......I hate having to rely on anyone else even my DH as I feel I'm imposing and in I never want to be a bother to anyone.
Enjoy your weekend all!!
Love n hugs. Chrissy

This is fun - hope the link works Chrissy posted it elsewhere.

Chrissy...driving already!!! OMG you are doing so well!!!!!
As for baby smells, you probably don't know this, but they don't smell like babies any more!!! No more baby powder!!! I was so disappointed when I smelled my first grand....sigh. My daughter has Zach and my step-daughter has Fynn. I don't see them much. My son has George and Thomas and I'd say I see them the most. I was very close to my son until I started working for the competition for his job. Like who cares??? His company wasn't hiring me!! Sheesh!!
Alyson, I will copy and paste that link. Hope you are feeling a bit better today.
-
LOVED that song!! I saw it on Facebook but wasn't sure, but with your recommendation, Alyson, I watched and ENJOYED it!!

Hi Kathy! We'll at least you aren't having a boring vacation! Are you on the Outer Banks?
We used to go down to the Outer Banks with our family every year. Loved it because it was so peaceful. I think it's much more built up down there now. Enjoy your family!
Hi Barbe! I'm sorry you don't get to see your grands more. I have six that live about 25 mins away...but I don't see them as much as I'd like. Since being diagnosed with BC, my DD has been much better about bringing them over for short visits. So there is a silver lining for me.
Chrissy, Hi again! So happy to hear that you are getting around so well! I would tell you not to overdo it, but something tells me that nothing will keep you down!
I'm heading for a nap in my lazy boy. Feeling yucky from my infusion on Wednesday.
Hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend! Hugs, lilyrose

This may sound macabre, but I've told my DH that if I recur we are not telling the kids. I don't want pictures of NaNa with everyone smiling so they have the memory. I played the cancer card one year on my DD to say we wanted to see them more and she called me "pathetic"!!!! My son has a fat photo album from when they met until now and he was showing me how much the new baby looks like George. I went through the whole 5 years and there wasn't a single picture of me. Not one. Hurt? Yep.
-
I am not many of our pictures because I take them
-
nobody takes my picture, either. Oh, well. They can remember what I looked like at 35. W
