I have been rummaging around looking for info on strattice and fat grafting experiences...

I have revision surgery Monday and knew I was getting strattice to reinforce the side and hold my implant AWAY from my armpit, but the "dent" in front needs attention and my PS feels fat grafting is best for that.

I did some reading on Fat grafting and there are concerns over that giving an optimal atmosphere for recurrences  to grow, and interestingly even concerns for those of us with DCIS--and I am reading the medical literature. I am very fortunate to be a nurse working in a   academic medicine program so I get access to the real articles and doctors who can help explain them :) So the more I read the more I am comfortable that with what we know now, the concerns are more precautionary and not based on hoards of women getting fat grafting and having recurrences.

I also read here that many of you wore compression garments--my PS said nothing of that. HE did say this is not like a regular lipo machine--it has a smaller cannula, etc. Should I go buy some spanx just in case???? I tried to convince him to over-remove fat...he just laughed :)

Looking for any experieinces with Strattice and/or fat grafting

My PS did not use compression garments for the same reason, but I bought Spanx anyway.  I was very, VERY bruised at the donor sites, but it wasn't that sore...just felt like it looked...like a hideous bruise.  I have had the complication of lumps developing afterwards, but I do not think that typically occurs...I think only about 10-15% of the time, so you will hopefully be one of the lucky 85-90%.  I hope it goes well.  Mine did fill in nicely where he did the fat grafting, so it looks nice...just wish I didn't have to deal with the stress of the lumps.

Thanks KBeee :) My procedure was slotted for 1 1/2 hours yesterday and it took 3 hrs. It was n't until last night that the fat grafting area started to hurt and the bruising was revealed! Holy cats am I bruised! It just so happens that I have plus sized yoga pants with compression at the top. Otherwise I just bought some shaper underwear :) The breast is super swollen with areas of bruising.
