Chrissy, sounds like you're progressing in your rehab. It's normal to be a little impatient. Step by step you'll get there!
I'm off to the dermatologist this morning to have a basal cell cut out on my neck. She scraped out the little red bump last week and sent tissue to the lab. I haven't figured out who will remove the stitches she'll put in today because we're departing tomorrow morning for our summer getaway and don't plan to return home until early Oct.
As you can imagine, we've been VERY busy putting things away outside and carrying stuff out to the 5th wheel camper that will be our summer home. We have to prepare for any hurricanes that could blow away porch furniture and yard decorations.
We're headed first to IL to dh's sister's house, where we will park in her driveway. She has a 30 amp outlet that we can plug into for power. She and her dh are having an event on the 21st to celebrate their 50th anniversary. By July 1st we hope to arrive at Pine Hollow Resort near Park Rapids, MN. It's a small campground on a lake. This will be our 3rd summer to go there and we're now acquainted with the other people who have their campers set up to serve as summer and weekend cottages.
Last July was really nice. Hope the weather is as nice this July. We love it when we don't have to use the a/c. I should have wireless internet there so can keep up with you ladies.
-
Carole, I hope you have a great summer, it sounds so relaxing. Enjoy your visit, and we will all hope fo no severe weather while you are gone! I hope you can post and tell us about your trip along the way. Wilsie

I can go back and forth

Hi gals!!
I've been missing everyone; but bed bound most days, so have been pretty depressed.
Chrissy: I had the dates for your suurgery, so didn't miss any prayer time for you LOL!
So glad you're doing so well. No more bum knees!
Just take it nice an slow!! The MS has come back in full force; so it's a challenge getting around now. I have the same problem as you with the sensitivity to meds. Wish I could handle codeine: those meds would come in handy now, but alas, cannot do.
Keeping you all in my thoughs land prayers. and Mac, watching your progress. glad your getting into the other house. bet you'll find a difference with your breathing.
Leah, so glad your DD came back clear!!
3jays.

3jays!!! How wonderful to see you!!! I love it when you pop in! Oh Boo on the MS!! Hopefully you will continue to pop in often. (((((Hugs))))))
Barbe it takes a full year to heal properly perhaps she is still in the healing process. I can't wait for that year to pass and than I'll be ready for anything! I'm hoping to lose a bit more weight and get a little bit fitter so I can maybe get back to doing some of the things I like to do. Now that's something to look forward to!
Carole I've had a few of those basal cell carcinomas removed over the years and as the saying goes, better out than allowed to spread. The doc may put in dissolving stitches so you won't need to worry about having them removed and if she doesn't, ask where you could have them removed while on your trip. By the way, that trip for the summer sounds amazing! Don't forget to take some pics and share please......lol. Enjoy!!!
Wilsie, what have you got planned for the summer? Anything special?
Lisa it's good that you feel comfortable enough to go between the two.........I have a tendancy to learn one and want to stick with it.......lol.
I think I did something not good to my knee in my sleep........I woke up when it popped and then stung like you wouldn't believe! It is very sore and sensitive this morning so if there is no change by tomorrow morning I think I will give my doc a ring and see if I could have done something untoward.........I really hope not as it was going so well.
Well, DH is waiting to help me with my shower so I'd best not keep him waiting too long. Catch you all later!!
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Chrissy, thankfully I am not having to tend any new ailments, just trying t keep up my hip exercises since PT is done. I have grands from Phoenix for the next 10 days, so I will be busy entertaining a 10 yr old and 14 yr old. Thank goodness dd has a pool.
I am going to Iowa to visit my sister early July. She is very involved in dog shows, agility, obedience and has a boarding kennel. Dog people are very nice and I always have a good time. We are going to free concert the day I arrive, Jefferson Airplane. I am sure I will know who they are when I hear them.
3jays, don't think we've met, but this group is the nicest, don't you think? Sorry your ms is flaring up.
Chrissy, don't try to do too much too soon. Love to all Wilsie
-
3 jays, I'm always delighted to see you here, but I do hate that the MS is causing more hardship in your life. I think of you often and hope all is well, otherwise.
Chrissy, hope your knee's okay and you didn't move TOO wrong in your sleep! I think you're wise to check with the doctor just in case. You're a real trooper to keep your eye on the prize no matter what it takes to get there. May you improve every day, slow and steady.
We have 3 more days before the beach vacation. Somehow, these family trips always bring to mind those Chevy Chase vacation movies! We're renting our first beach house with a second floor this time so will see how that goes. Everyone is to bring their baby gates for the stairs and I may pick up one myself too. Getting excited about seeing the ocean again!
Carole, have a great summer at the campground! And Wilsie, I remember Jefferson Airplane! I think their lead singer was named Grace Slick.

I have to know what is inside this gate.I never looked.
-
Jefferson Airplane is still going???? Didn't they do White Rabbit? I LOVED listening to them when I got stoned in the 70's. Can't believe they're still alive and kicking!
Chrissy, I often wake up with my body all convoluted with my hip twisted and a leg crossed over to "open" the joint that is pinching...sigh. Normally I don't move an inch. But when I do....
-
Yes White Rabbit!
-
Hi girls! The pop seems to have settled down a bit so I don't think I did any major damage..........thank goodness.....lol. Still having some pain but I have eased back on the the pain meds a bit to see if I can go with a lower dosage and still be reasonably comfortable........we shall see.
Lisa, that pic is very tittilating............lol........just a peak of what is behind and nothing more!
OMG! Jefferson Airplane! I remember them! I can't believe they are still around.
Love n hugs all! Chrissy

Hi everyone, got off being banned on the 14th. Haven't much felt like being social. Got caught up on reading. Lots of stuff happening here. CHRISSY it's always something. Hope it settles downBarbie talked son into Jefferson Airplane and Starship albums. Also, Jim Croce. LOL he plays them in his law office.
SoCal thanks again for posting on W&F's , they are great pics and they ease the heart

We're packed and ready to leave for the beach tomorrow morning, except for the last minute stuff like taking the dog to the vet for boarding. And another trip to DS's to get things they can't get in their car. I feel that we're taking everything we own! I'm taking my laptop so I'll be able to check in now and then.
Chrissy, so glad no damage was done in the "pop". It seems to me that your recovery's going much faster this time, so that's good. What is the saying, slow and steady wins the race.
Lisa, love the picture and would love to know what's inside that gate! And why's the bicycle parked outside?
Welcome back, Sas!

another door to wonder about
-
Hi everybody!!! I have been so worn out from moving! I've been taking naps everyday. I am just lethargic. There is still lots to do, but I have time. I am having a bit of an identity crisis. Moving, not working, driving my DD's car nothing feels like home. I don't feel settled.
Chrissy, I hope your knee is improving.
Wilsie have fun with your grands.
Lisa keep us guessing with the doors.
Jefferson Airplane!!!!! That brings back memories! Before they were Starship. I remember seeing them in concert (sort of)
barbe, we could of hung out together back then!
3jays, wish I could come hang out with you. I got a new supplement from my acupunturist today. Ivy Calm, it is suppose to help with my lungs. I'll give it a try, its like a cough syrup. I'll share lots of pics.
Here's the house now, it is getting closer to done.
-
Here is a view from my front yard. It is of the Charles W Morgan sailing into the harbor with accompanying boats.
-
tonight we had mystery soup! Something I had frozen not even that long ago. A pureed soup, but I can't remember what it was. We defrosted it and heated it up and it was yummy, but a mystery! Gingery or maybe curry? ha ha It doesn't take much to entertain me!
hi sas!!!!! Wish you were here to give my DD her fragmin shot everyday!
-
your place has a million dollar view. I love it
-
Mac, love your house and the view. You will settle in and feel like you've been there forever.
I could not risk eating anything frozen that I couldn't identify, I don't cook much but do put things waiting for garbage day in and forget!
Lisa, love the doors. My favorite book as a child was "the Secret Garden"
Wilsie
-
mac, you have been running on empty with your DDs surgery. It's time now for YOU to relax, though possibly impossible...hmmm. The adrenaline that has kept you going to be there for your DD has run out. That is pretty normal (remember Chrissy's teary breakdown?) maybe you need a good cry, too. When I cry I think of all that pain or angst or fear or whatever leaving my system. It's healthy to cry. Go ahead.....
Keep those house pictures coming! I LOVE seeing the progress!! But, now I forget....are you going to be moving into the new place and your DD stay where you guys are now?
-
Hi girls! Every day a little better and every day a little steadier on my feet.....woohooo! I'm on the mend and I think I like it!!!! hahahahaha! I have graduated from a walker to using two stick so I'm going ahead in leaps and bounds. Working hard on strengthening the muscles I need for driving as I want to be back behind the wheel in a week or two, this sitting around and doing nothing is for the birds......lol.
Love those doors Lisa, they sure do get the imagination going as to what is behind them. I feel a story coming on......lol.
Wilsie 'The Secret Garden' was one of my favorites as well and I passed that onto my daughters as well!
Nancy, what a view!! OMG! that is stunning.....I would never want to go inside with a view like that! I can't believe how lovely your little house is becoming! Please try to slow down a bit, you are wearing your self to a frazzle! I know getting organized in a new home is really tiresome but it's not going anywhere so in time it will all get put where it needs to be so don't get too stressed about it all. Never mind about the identity crisis, just come here and we will remind you that you are our lovely Nancy and no other! (((((((hugs)))))). We at different time have had mystery soup and it's fun to try and figure out just what it is.......lol.
Kathy, safe journey to the seaside! I'm glad you are taking your laptop so you can stay in touch........we would miss you very much if you didn't.
Sas, lovely to see you and welcome back! although I didn't know you had a ban, can you tell me why? Don't worry if you can't I'm just glad you are back.
Take care all!
Love n hugs Chrissy

Lisa, love the red door. Is it a church?
barbe, my DD is going to move into new house when it is done and I will stay here. Every day I make a trip to the old house and bring some more things over. So it is slow going but steady. I got some curtains up in my bedroom yesterday that will help me sleep later in the mornings.
I know I will get through this time, especially with my friends here to help.
-
It is the side door of a church in Belgium..just thought it was serene
-
-
-
Oh WOW Lisa!!!!! Those doors are amazing!!! I love that church door........so serene!!!
Nancy just take your time in getting things in order and little by little it will all come together. Oh yeah, having curtains in your bed room is a good thing! keeps that pesky sun on the outside.........lol. Once you are all settled and your DD settled in the little house you can then rest and recuperate with the beautiful trees and view.
Still just putting one foot in front of the other, slowly does it. The pain has dropped to about a three now so it is far easier to cope with so I am slowly reducing the amount of pain meds that I was taking.......now that has got to be a good thing........lol. Today has been a real winter day here with the cold wind blowing a gale and it raining as well. I'm so glad I have the fire down stairs as it keeps my little house toasty warm........at least I know the solstice has passed so the days will slowly get longer and after a little while, warmer........it is then that I will complain about the heat.......hahahahaha! there is no pleasing some people........lol.
Love n hugs all! Chrissy
-
I hate when the solstice starts up here
Heading towards shorter days

That was such a fun day Chrissy!
