i went thru 12 weeks of taxol and herceptin, the last taxol treatment the roof of my mouth went numb that was may 7th, i am now taking herceptin every 3 weeks and now my tongue is numb, roof of mouth, gums, teeth lips, cheeks, chin, nose and eyelids.. they claim it is the chemo but i havent had taxol for almost 2 months, i have been to the emergency room twice and am about to go again cause now my throat is numb. i have no taste, i have dry mouth but it feels like i have had a shot of novacaine that has not worn off and it is getting worse instead of geting better, they have told me that no one has ever had this symptom with HERCEPTIN, well it can't be the taxol cuz i havent had taxol in 2 months and the numbness is getting worse not better. is there anyone out there that is experiencing this also or am i alone? i am feeling very alone with this.

Chemotherapy induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) can occur, or worsen, for some period of time after finishing chemo. Because you did not have this severity during taxane therapy, or because you have received no Taxol in two months, does not mean it is not CIPN.

hi. I'm on herceptin also but the only SE is in the mornings my hands feel stiff and I start to move them around. I just move them around and the stiffness goes away
