Thanks, Lago.  I was on weekly Taxols.  My taste buds are improving (yay!) No nasty taste this week.  Took about 6 or 7 weeks to feel foot numbness, and Ive had many weeks of this heart palpitation thing.  Im a very observant patient, but also patient.

Tangandchris, I started cutting my nails back when I couldn't take the nail bending.  I keep them pretty short.  Had a little nail lifting, but not bad.  Hope they will also cycle to get better.

sorry I haven't been replying. for some reason my pages aren't updating so it looks like no one is posting until I actually open the thread. I can't see past page 40 on this thread. PM me if you have a question because right now I can't see any recent posts.

Finished chemo on Wednesday! wooty woot woot! I remember when I first joined this group and thought I'd never make it through. So thankful for everyone on here. The posts, advice, laughs reassured me that I wasn't going at it alone. Ya I have a supportive family, but no one knew what I was going through. That's where I found comfort in coming here. I was more of a lurker, but I was here just about every day. Special thanks to Lago. We're very lucky to have you here....Our mentor.

Here is a little laugh for the day.  I wrote and published this a few days before my BMX.  Amount my social circles, I was always the little girl with the big boobs. It was always a running joke:

Obituary Notice: The breasts of Jeanette Bokland will pass away on Monday, December 23rd at Florida Hospital Orlando after a short battle with cancer. Although only the left one was affected, the two were inseparable. In the ultimate act of solidarity, the right will join its life partner in eternity.

Born in Schenectady, NY on April 27, 1961 they did not make their debut until 1973 when her mother took her to Woolworths to purchase a Playtex AA training bra folded inside a box. Over their lifetime, they grew to a full-figure 36DD with underwire support and padded straps.

The highlight of their lifetime achievement was providing motherly duties for Jeanette’s two children, Dustin in 1982 and Madison in1987.

There was an unfortunate incident in 1982 where the right nipple sustained 2nd degree burns when it fell onto a hot cookie sheet. This happened while nursing her son and she stopped log enough to remove cream-puffs from the oven. The right’s inability to nurse after that injury was covered when the left one sacrificed itself and took on double duty.

Also known as Cat 4’s, the twins were remembered for their t-shirts, including ‘Itty Bitty Titty Committee”, “Home Grown not Silicone” and “Wine Rack”.

The Cat 4’s have always been a source of fun and entertainment for all who knew them.

High school was filled with jokes and nicknames from students and teachers, alike. They even had their own CB radio handle; Top 40.

In 2004, at a bar outing during Jeanette’s 25thhigh school reunion, there was wine involved with the decision to flip her shirt up to the bartender. He noted the Ralph Loren logo, RL, on the bra and thought it clever the bra was marked Right and Left, respectively.

Most recently, they were part of a wonderful prank with a friend’s cell phone at a local pub in Australia when he left the phone unattended. They were photographed as a ‘down the shirt’ angle and used to replace his FaceBook profile picture. The large round cleavage was initially mistaken for a buttock.

A private beach-side memorial will be held for the immediate family which will include a bra-burning ceremony at sunset.

As a memorial on Monday, Jeanette requests that you wear pink to show your support of breast cancer or simply black to mourn the passing of the notorious pair.

    jbokland...so funny!

Port removal surgery Monday! Woohooo! It is like bursting out of me. You can see the whole outline of it and it is still bruised after all this time. Good riddance to something that served its purpose, but I'm not sorry to see go!

My left eye lashes never grew back as well as they did on the right… until finally last month. I was on a 1 month vacation from ESD (Estrogen Sucking Drug).

Jbokland, When will you have your port removed in the office?  My BS only does it this way, and it freaks me out, but would be quicker than hospital.  Please let us know how it goes.  Congrats to those who got it out!!

mommom. Yes. I had it in the office and it was perfectly fine.  After the initial stings of the lidocaine injections, it was painless. I felt some pressure as he worked to get it out.  They have a tendency to become encapsulated.  It was done in 10 min!  My partner was with me and we all chatted through the procedure. When I got home and the lidocaine wore off, I was quite sore. I took some Advil and rested.

Wow, I'm impressed!  You make it sound like a good option.  How long did the pain last, and was Advil sufficient?  Wonder Thanks!

Congrats on all the port removals!!!

Princess sorry to hear about your nails. Mine are lifting a little too and are painful but no oozing. Glad the antibiotics helped that. Hugs to you!

JB my eyelashes/brows are still on there way out. But my brows are growing in already. My hair is coming in on the sides and very top just not the front top. It's so weird to me that some hair is still falling out while other areas are growing. Had to shave my left leg too. Weird!

mommom.  I did take a Percocet the first night to sleep better.  I tend to lay on my port side.  ( lol! )

mommom I had no problem with pain from port. It was sore but that's it. I had it done in the hospital under twilight. I think the office sounds better. Who needs to get more anesthesia if you don't need it. We've had enough crap put into our bodies.

At first I thought no way would I have it taken out in the office, but now I'm seriously considering it.  Agree, why do the hospital thing if you can bite the bullet and get it done in 10 minutes.  It sounds tolerable.  Thanks so much for the info!

Mommom...had my port out Tuesday in the office and I was so apprehensive about it!  My surgeon is funny and talks and sings Monty Python songs so it's a good distraction...my husband stayed in her office while I was having it done...it took no time and was not like getting it in...I did take one valium an hour before (never had one before and wasn't sure how it would effect me)...I probably could have taken another 1/2 cause it didn't feel like it did anything but the port removal was easy...maybe ask for an anti-anxiety before procedure.  IT feels awesome to just have it out...another thing to getting closer to being done! Yeyyey!! I think I took tylenol at night and by the next afternoon it wasn't very sore...steristrips and dissolving stitches...good luck and I worried too much about it!!

@Jules...I love seeing more and more fuzz on my head!  I still won't go bald though...people talked about taking biotin on a thread...how much do you take?  Does it help?? rosie
