Heart Saving Breast Reconstruction

This article caught my eye. I do remember my PS telling me If I ever had heart disease issues, I would need to tell them my internal mammary artery had been used for DIEP.   I do have a sister with heart disease, so I guess I am a little concerned. It looks  as if there is an alternative means of using the IMA when DIEP is performed, according to this article.  So this is just FYI... Another question to ask your PS, if you have a history of heart disease or have had radiation.
