How Often Do You See Your MO?

Options

I've had surgery, just finished radiation and received the good ol bottle of Tami today.  Today was probably one of the most informative appointments of this journey.  Though I am in great care and have great Dr's.  I finally have a 4 week reprieve from what I called "these 4 walls today".

Today I was told I would see the MO every 3 months the first 2 years and then 6 months the next 3 until the 5 year mark at which time we are considered cured and can go back to our lives (but I can't remember if maybe it was yearly after that for a period of time).  I'm sure they told me about mammo's too, but I think my first f/u one is in 3 months.    I still have a FU with MO again 4 weeks to see how I'm doing on Tami, RO in 5 weeks, BS in 2 months and PS in 6 weeks.  Never realized how long this journey was.

Healing thoughts to all.

I am just over 3 years out from DX and I have finally graduated to seeing my MO every 6 months!  I was on 3 months for a long time, then 4 months....now 6!

I saw my MO 3months after starting tamoxifen & then went to every 6months. I see the BS every 6months. Saw the RO 1month afters RADs finished, then no more. I would actually like to see the MO less often(maybe once a year?). Then there is the GYN for all the tamoxifen caused issues, grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

I saw mine 5 months after first and last chemo and then he said to come back in 6 months. I was surprised. I kind of felt 'written off' since i was cut off chemo from complications. In some respects though it gives me more time to pretend everything is ok. Once it is close to time to see him I will probably worry.

After active treatment ended, I saw my MO every 6 weeks for the first 3 months, then he left the area and I started with another MO, who I've seen every 6 months.  I am almost 2 years out from the end of Herceptin, and will be seeing him for the last time this week then switching to another doc - no idea what his interval will be, I assume 6 months until I get to the 5 year mark.

Thank you for your replies.  I guess I really had no idea before yesterday we were followed so closely for so long, but am also happy too.  Best wishes to everyone on this journey.
