Has anyone had a heart sonogram? My GP has ordered one because my heart rate is always very high, and has been for a while. Bless her heart, she takes her responsibility of taking care of all issues other than bc, very seriously! I told her a few months ago that onc only addresses bc, and that I am relying on her for everything else. She is a great doc, she will get to the bottom of any issue I mention.

Wilsie I had one a couple of years ago and they really aren't a big deal. Its just like an ultrasound of the heart and they do it laying flat and on your side. Hope it all goes well for you and comes back clear.
I've been quiet for a few days getting my head together.......lol. It's been a bit of an emotional roller coaster but I think I've got my feet firmly back on the ground. My walking is getting better day by day and that's a good thing I just wish the swelling would stabilise as that's what is causing a lot of the discomfort. Oh well, this too shall pass I just need a little more patience........lol.
Lisa that is a cracking good photo of you, you sure were a looker and still are......gorgeous!
Nancy, that kitchen cabinet is going to look fab right there and I can't wait to see it complete!
Have a good day all!

Ah Chrissy, your adrenaline has depleted from your system and you are getting the "flight or fight" crash. It took a while, but totally predictable - think back to last time. Have you cried yet? You need to rid yourself of the cortisol in your system that has kept you goind thus far. Hugs to you, sweetie, you are doing GREAT!!!!
Wilsie, they may even have the sound on and you can hear your own heartbeat!! I LOVE getting tests and scans where I can watch and/or hear what is happening. Even when they did my leg ultrasounds checking for vein blockage I got to hear the beat. Once I was able to see my spine from INSIDE my body when I had an angiogram!! LOVE it!!
-
Yeah Barbe had big break down as I was getting out of the shower the other day.........poor hubby didn't know what to do. I must admit it was what I needed and I've been a lot better since and coping with the pain better as well.
We have been invited out to a goodbye lunch for a friend who is moving interstate on Sunday and I will admit I'm looking forward to it and getting out of the house even if it's only for an hour or two. I don't think I'll use the walking frame as I'm getting pretty good on two sticks and I know there will be a place for me to sit and put my legs up if I need.
Thanks for the hugs, much appreciated.
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Barbe, it will be interesting, for sure. You are kinda like me, I enjoyed my head and upper body MRIs very much. As ling as they get the IV started with no trouble, I am game for any test my insurance will pay for!
Chrissy, hoping the walking is easier day by day, and pain goes away soon.
On another note, I am getting senile. Went to the store, forgot t put the dog door down. When I got home, went inside, and no dogs! I looked back and saw what happened, and started the Chase. Molly, my old, almost blind and deaf one, was just padding around in the front yard. She was easy, thank goodness . So I took the car out around the block and found Bubba, my naughty boy who has street smarts. Finally got him and took him home. That left only Lola, my sweet but dumb mini Schnauzer. She never gets out and has no street smarts. I was just about to give up, when I saw a lady walking with a purpose with a leash. Turns out she was saving my Lola! So I made a new friend and have them all back. I am pooped from the little walking I did, plus scared myself!
I live by myself with the three. They are good company.

Wilsie - That is very entertaining in the retelling. I laughed but I was tired for you.
-
Geesh, Wilsie! Why have a dog door if they can't go out? Do they stay closer to home if you're in the house? Do you think they went looking for you? I used to have cats. They are cool. You come home after a 3-day weekend and the cat looks up at you as it licks it's balls and says, "You. You look familiar....."
-
Barbe. There are two dog doors, one goes into garage, 2nd one goes from garage to large, fenced yard. When I leave in the car, I have to close the dog door which goes to garage, othwise I may run them over or they can escape when the big garage door opens for the car to pull in They can go in and out as they please when I am here. I don't trust any of the three to be loose, plus they would be picked up by animal control. They have the best lives dog could have I love cats, too, but so do the dogs!

perfect dog yard
-
That IS a perfect dog yard!!! I want to dig in that chipped stuff.... Your garden has greened up beautifully!!!!
-
what a beautiful yard you have..nice and green..love it
-
Wilsie, love the yard!
Chrissy, glad you're coming along as well as you are. Probably getting out a bit will be good medicine for you!

Chrissy, I hope you see the light at the end of the tunnel soon..being pent up isn't any fun...hugs

Hi girls! Getting better each day with better movement and most of the time very controlled pain so I'm doing good. Thanks for all your good thoughts, they must be working as I don't recall recovering this quickly with my other knee. I am in full hope that by the end of four to six weeks I will be able to drive again as my lift and press is already not too bad but still too much pain under pressure to drive.......soon.....lol.
I'm filling in my time by watching the World Cup in soccer from Brazil.......love soccer and already there have been some exciting games.
Take care all.
Love n hugs. Chrissy
-
Wow! You can do lifts and presses with the knee? You are doing amazing!! I'm so glad your fear of what you went through last time was not self-prophesying! Keep up the good work, sweetie.

I have a special day coming up. Tuesday is my granddaughter, Lauren's 17th birthday. 17 years ago, I was in the room in the hospital with her parents, when she was born. It was such an emotional time, I was marked all over for my bilateral mastectomy, which I was having the following day. The miricle of precious new life, almost calmed my terrible fears of what I was going to go through. I have always had a special bond with Lauren, I remember seeing her little head with black hair and eyes, looking around before she was completely born! She has grown to be a beautiful, sweet, and special young lady. Every year on her birthday, I tell her the same story, which she never tires of hearing.
It dawned on me that a nice thing to do for each of my children and grandchildren, would be to write down my earliest memory of each one. I would have loved to have that from my grandmother, for whom I am named. You can't say I love you too much or too often.
Wilsie

Thanks Barbe! Yes the lifts are getting better as are the presses but I'm still a long way from being back to normal.....lol. No, the fear didn't hold me back as I am so pleased with the result of my other knee and how wonderful it is to be able to move on that side with no pain. I have lived so long with knee pain I really won't know myself when there is none at all........lol.
Oh Wilsie, I know just how special it is to be there as a grandchild enters this world and the very special bond that ensues with that child.......I have the same with my 18 year old grandson. It seems to be a 'knowing' between us......just super special. Writing down your early memories of each of your children and grandchildren would be a truly wonderful thing to do for each of them and something that they could keep forever.
I ventures out for a farewell luncheon for a friend who is leaving the area and moving to greener pastures for her. It was so lovely, good food and good company a really fabulous to be out of the house for a few hours.....lol.
Hope everyone is out enjoying your summer!
Love n hugs. Chrissy

WIlsie, that is a wonderful memory to share!! I'm sure she looks forward to hearing if from you. One year the penny will drop and she will realize that you are actually talking about the circle of life - as you looked at your own mortality, she began her life.
When my step-daughter had her little guy, Fynn, and her mom and I were allowed into the room I was pretty surprised when she handed him to me first! I'm still impressed that her mom didn't balk at it. But I still laugh when my step-daughter's words were "Don't drop him!" hehehehehe
-
Wilsie, what a wonderful memory to share! And your idea of writing down your first memory of each grandchild is delightful. I'm sure they'll all love it.
Chrissy, I'm so glad you're doing so well. It takes a lot to keep our Chrissy down!

I just love it Wilsie

I think the older we get, the more sentimental. When I was a child, I used to ask my grandmother to tell me about when I was a baby. I still remember sitting on her lap, listening to whatever trivia she came up with. Memories bring our loved ones back for a little while, so they are with us always.
Wilsie

I just saved my photos from the past six years onto a backup memory. 1 TerraByte
-
You take the most beautiful photos. I enjoy seeing them on the "peaceful contemplation" thread. That sounds like a lot! Glad you have them saved. Thanks for posting them for us. Wilsie
-
Lisa what a great idea! I bet you have enough to just about fill that terrabyte...lol. I have loads of movies and series that I have saved to a terrabyte and now it's so easy to look for something to watch and there are no DVD's or Videos taking up space in my lounge. I have my pics in a few different places, Dropbox, Picassa, Photobucket and then I have a heap of USB's but maybe it's time to do what you have done Lisa and put them all in the same place, on a terrabyte so it will be easier for the kids to find them when I eventually kick the bucket.....lol.
I have finally worked out what my problem is..........I am expecting too much and have been pushing myself too hard. I was sitting here yesterday thinking about why I couldn't do what I did last time when I got home and then it suddenly dawned on me. At this point last time I was still in hospital and it was a month after my op that I got home...........right now I am only two weeks and two days and can't possibly expect to be at the same level. I just have to give in a sit on my butt or lay in my bed for a couple of weeks more.....sigh......I so want to be up and out and about.......lol......guess we can't always have want we want.........I think the Rolling Stones had a song of that title and maybe they are right.
Love n hugs all! Chrissy
-
Slow down you move too fast...feeling groovy...
Actually Chrissy , I was transferring from one computer to the other and just didn't have space to move it all...
so I just plug in the backup hard drive and I have it all...
-
Lol Lisa, yeah I know, that's a perfect song for me and the minute I read the first few lines it started playing in my head....hahahahaha!
Did you get a new computer? Laptop or desk? External hard drives are great and it doesn't matter how many you have it's just a matter of remembering what's on which one........lol. Have fun with it!
Love n hugs. Chrissy
-
I got a new laptop Chrissy. I kept my Windows 8 but I got a new windows 7. I just love it and feel quite at home.
-
I went from XP to Windows 8........talk about a shock to the system but I rather like it now. It took a little bit of fiddling to find my way around but the longer I have it the better I like it and the easier it gets. I'm glad you are happy with the Windows 7.
Love n hugs. Chrissy

Chrissy, so glad that you realized you were pushing yourself too hard! We were impressed by how well you were doing but I guess you didn't recognize that yet. I'm still amazed! I have a cousin on Facebook that is still bitching about her knee replacement that was so long ago I don't even remember when it was!! (last year?? this year??)!! I hear more about her knee now than I ever did before.
