What did your tumor and lymph nodes feel like after?

I just finished 4 AC and 12 Taxol w/ Herceptin and Perjeta every third week. Tumor was originally 7cm with two huge lymph nodes. Lymph nodes could no longer be felt after the first AC. There is still a mass of some sort in my breast but onc says he can't find the edges because they are so soft and indistinct and thinks that it's likely just scar tissue. I have had no imaging during chemo, except for an ultrasound in the middle of AC that showed no change in size. I flipped out on my onc and he explained "the swiss cheese effect" and said that as long as he could feel the mass shrinking, he was going to keep me on the original treatment. I had a clip placed between AC and Taxol which caused the mass to swell up again before going back down. I have an MRI tomorrow.

Could it be that what I'm feeling is really scar tissue? I just hate having anything still there!

I'm Triple Positive.

My tumor was originally 8 cm. I also had 4 AC followed by 12 Taxol. My MO continued to say that chemo was breaking up the tumor like "swiss cheese". I could feel the tumor throughout my treatments and was concerned but she assured me chemo was doing its job. I had surgery on 6/6 and just received the final pathology report. While I did not have a complete response to chemo, the tumor was reduced to 3 cm and all nodes were negative.

I had AC and taxol with herceptin and surgery after with a complete response I did and do again have lots if scar tissue and also many cysts !!! Good luck to you, its scary having the tests but it feels oh so good when they come back clear !! Hang in there and trust it did its thing......chemo sucks but does kill cancer !!

oh....I had two 3cm tumors in my lymph nodes and less then 1 cm at six o'clock on the chest wall !! All gone
