eekwine you need to fight for yourself. I just took a 1 month vacation from Anastrozole after being on it for 3 years. I am no longer depressed, have sleep issues, my back and shoulder pain  is gone, my dry eye is almost gone and some body acne is almost gone. I was osteopenic before chemo at age 49. Lost more after chemo and 5 months on Anastrozole then pretty stable after that till this fall. Now slight osteoporosis in lumbar spine although everything else still stable.

Now trying to find the right drug to treat the osteoporosis. (Fosamax gave me heartburn/reflux. Waiting for approval on Prolia. I won't take Reclast because it's an infusion. My treatment center will only do it in the arm. I have LE in one and the other at risk). Switching from Anastrozole to Exemestane. Hopefully the depression/sleep issues don't come back. Those were my biggest concerns. Granted the Exemestane is going to cost me over $148 a month more than Anastrozole and that's for generic and not going through my insurance (using goodRX)! I hate insurance companies.  Would love to say to insurance "OK you don't want me to take that drug, well fine I won't then you can pay big bucks when the cancer comes back."

Just posting back that I finally had an appt with a new endo that someone on this board recommended.  What a difference!  Totally professional Dr and office staff - called me back promptly and proactively.  So happy I made the switch!

Had a bunch of labs and all was normal except I had elevated calcium in my urine.  Have to do the 24 hour urine test again to make sure it is an issue.  In any case, he is recommending Reclast, Forteo or Prolia.  I had Reclast once before and it was fine but I will do some research on the other two.

I had upped my Vit D to 4,000 IUs a day and my level jumped from 34 to 46 so happy about that!

Glad you like your new endo. As an FYI, my understanding in that Forteo is contraindicated if you've had rads. Their website says it also has a risk of bone cancer.

But it sounds like you have other options, and that your bloodwork was good, so that's great news!

Thank you for the information on rads - I definitely had that!
