what is alloderm?

sorry to ask this question that has probably been asked before.  but i am scheduled to have tissue expanders and alloderm on June 25.  Is alloderm a sort of filler or something?

    Alloderm is the brand name for a tissue matrix (there are others). In many breast recons it is used to create " sling" under the breast to support the implants. Kind of like a soft internal underwire. If you use the search function, you'll find many discussions on it. I had my recon with Alloderm almost three years ago. It does create a bit of tightness, but that has diminished and i rarely even notice it. I never wear underwire bras, which is nice. As a matter of fact, i could easily go bra-less! Good luck to you.

    thank you.  i want to be REAL small, so i can go braless too.  my medicaid wasn't official until after the right mastectomy, so i had to wait.  they will reduce the left to match the right, so i am looking forward to it.  especially since i am finally losing weight, and the size G-H boob really looks out of place, lol.
