pjc71 sending you best wishes.  The tests are scary but please do your best to keep positive thoughts going on about your body.

Jackie, yes, my GD is special.  She loaned me the book and I've read about 80+ pages and pleased to know it's for teens, as even though it's a serious subject, I'm going to be pleased to get to the end.  I enjoy talking to her about books and stuff.

Mimi, I love knowing there is a Clown Convention!!   Makes my heart happy.

I've been doing the Young and Raw 21-Day Detox and am doing so much better.  The first two weeks were simply juice, smoothies and salad.  This is the first day of week 3 and it's all juice.  I've been surprised at how good I'm feeling, so much more energy and the pain in my right hand, probably arthritis is gone.  NOTE:  yesterday someone told me this type of diet is not good for those with 'active' cancer.  Has anyone else tried this type of diet?

After I will simply stay away from processed foods.  As a nice SE I've lost 10 lbs in the past two weeks.  I'm thrilled with that part for sure.

    Happy Monday!

    Susie

One more thing - a few days ago I commented on a post of a newly diagnosed lady and now I cannot find it.  How can I find the posts to which I've responded?

    Thanks

Can I Have This Dance is such a wonderful song. A few years ago on a cruise I went up on stage and sang it to my husband. He nearly cried.

Teacher 64, we live in a suburb of Dallas and it was stormy during the night and raining a bit off and on today! Love it!

Global/Susie.....go to one of your posts here, hit your name and it will take you to your last posts.  If not too long ago......you should find who it was you posted too.

Been cloudy all day here.....but managed to get a fair amt. done.  Washed all my deck furniture and the long  Rubbermaid storage  containers we keep out there.  Got the bank of windows outside washed....the umbrella stand under the table and the umbrella sitting up straight and tall.  We are ready to have all our meals on the deck.

I will work again tomorrow.....which is ok with me.  I love taking care of my little lady friend.  Need to vac out my car and put in the new mats/carpets that I use.  Try and keep it clean but it is not always easy when you live in our rural area. I buy the mats when they are on sale and just hold onto them for when I'm ready to detail my car.   Pretty blue ones this time.

Hope you all had a fantastic day.

    Blessings

    Jackie

Diane, I am also on Tamoxifen, what SE do you experience?  I have awful muscle pain, joint pain, fatigue, and depression.  I am on Cymbalta which helps alot and gives me rest at night with no pain.

mommarch - I don't have the fatigue or depression but I do have weight gain and difficulty concentrating and joint pain. The good thing about Tamoxifen tho is it has built my bones up to the point my osteoporosis has improved dramatically and it is a good insurance policy to fight a recurrence. Still I am 3 1/2 years out from my DX and looking forward to my last day on Tamoxifen.

I went to the eye doctor today and he told me I could quit wearing my glasses! Of course, I still need them to read and can't really imagine my face without glasses on my nose. I have cataracts which could come out now, except I'm not aware of them giving me big problems seeing. I also have corneal dystrophy which is more serious. Fortunately, it's the map dot print variety which is less likely to make me blind. Since my retirement goal is to learn to paint, I think I'd better get with it right away. I'm going to go get some wild colored readers. They look like so much fun. I've always had sensible glasses since I have to like them for a couple of years at a time.

Wren, my cataracts keep me from sewing. In February I was told they are "ready" but with DIEP in March and stage 2 coming up, my plate is full. Maybe in September I will take care of them because I want to smock Christmas dresses for my grandgirls.

The art of living... is neither careless drifting on the one hand nor
fearful clinging to the past on the other. It consists in being sensitive
to each moment, in regarding it as utterly new and unique,
in having the mind open and wholly receptive.          Alan Watts

Thinking of you, pjc, and Di.  Hoping for good reports.  Mary, thinking of you as you start treatment.

Carole, I know what you mean about the refrigerator!  After at least 3 side-by-side models, we just went to a (big) freezer on the bottom.  We bypassed the ice/water in the door.  It's just Dh and myself so it doesn't get opened that much for ice and filtered water.  I am hoping this refrigerator lasts without a lot of costly repairs.  Much happier!

Jackie, glad your outdoor space is ready for summer.  We did some work outside and painted the deck, I planted the flower boxes, and bought new colorful cushions for the chairs.  DH and I sat outside for awhile Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed it.  When my DS arrived with his new girlfriend, I insisted on sitting out with our snacks.  It was early evening and the gnats arrived...any suggestions for effective mosquito and gnat control for a small area?

Mommarch, I hope you are settling in now that you are back home.  You have been through so much as a family in the past year.  Hugs and prayers for you having quality family time and making wonderful memories.

Time for work...it's drizzling but I'd still rather be home today.

I will be in southern IL for a wedding until June 29th.  That Sunday I'm driving the 5+ hours to Chicago either along Route 57 or 55 (almost the entire length of the state).
Any good suggestions for lunch or coffee stops?  I am not used to a drive that long any more. But I have to see my son in Chicago while I'm there.

We did the same thing Joan...sick of the side by side ones. We opted for the freezer at the bottom and no ice/water door either. Its just DH and me too so why bother. We buy bottled water or get it from the tap and put ice in it. Tennessee has really good water.

Di - so sorry - prayers coming your way. Makes my possible glaucoma so not a big deal.

It's pouring down rain here today.  I'm afraid it will be too wet for golf tomorrow so I cancelled.  I'm doing some much-needed house-cleaning.  Also some laundry.  Actually I'm sitting here with this laptop computer on my lap, typing!  But I need to get back to work.

Di, sending you good vibes and hugs for your upcoming tests and hoping beyond hope for good results!

I have been having eye infections, too but I think mine are allergy related.  I haven't been wearing my contacts very much at all.  My glasses have been getting quite the workout.  I go to see my regular doctor on Friday for a refill on my blood pressure meds and I'll ask about my eyes then. There is always something, isn't there?

We are getting a real downpour now and it looks like most of our week will be wet and damp.  I'm with you, Carole.  I'm waiting for better golf weather!  It just doesn't seem like fun to slop around on a golf course when there is so much else I could be doing....IF I can get myself motivated to do it!  :-)

In fact, this afternoon seems like the perfect time to brew a pot of tea and grab a good book!

ANd Arimidex brings it all back!

Was responding to Sandi's & Dwarfs of Menopause. Out of context makes no sense!

We were on a short Bermuda cruise last week, chilly with rain off and on, but had a good time anyway. Rainy here. We will never get our new porch windows done if it doesn't stop.

Had my mammo today. Hopefully everything looks good. They didn't need to take any extra views. Breathe!

Di, I had been wondering where you've been. So sorry to hear about your eye infection. Sounds awful. Bone marrow testing sounds painful and frightening. Do you do it as an outpatient? When will you know the results?

bonnets - they don't give you your results before you leave? Ugh. I couldn't handle not knowing right then and there.

We have rain too- every day for the past week. Good for the flowers but enough already. It really slowed down the golf tournament but they finally managed to finish on Sunday.

    Hi Friends,

My 93 year old mom is having a mastectomy tomorrow morning.  It is 10 cm. big so we don't have any choice since we fear it may eat through the skin if left alone.  She has been thru so much in her life.  She had a spinal cord injury as a result of a car accident when 75 and was in fantastic shape. Since then she has worked her way back to using a walker and wheelchair.  She could really use your prayers and support tomorrow. She checks into the hospital at 7 am.

    Thank you,

    Nancy

Nancy, your Mom is in my prayers.  I am so sorry that she has to go through this surgery at her age.  Hugs to both of you!  I have thought about you often and hope that you are doing well yourself!    Please come back and let us know how Mom does.

Nancy and Di. Thinking of each of you tonight.  Such different problems, but both need to know there are people here who care.
