Need help off the ledge
Hi
Dr. called at 1:45--missed the call-- called back twice-- she is with patients... It is almost 5--I am going out of my mind with worry about this biopsy--if it was benign, wouldn't she have just left a message???? I am really going off the rails.... trying to keep it together but I just am so scared........ I really don't want thyroid cancer (who does) ...... Help!!!!

and now the office is closed--- in some ways I am relieved-- just cannot face this again..... sometimes she has called me after hours-- would just rather go home and go to bed....

I’m very sorry, I can imagine this must be extremely difficult
for you. After our surgery, we were waiting on results and missed our doc’s
initial call. She left a message that said she had our results and to call her
back. We were thinking the same thing as you: “If it’s good news, why wouldn’t she
just leave a message?” Well we called her back and it was good news, she just
wanted to tell us in person. It could well be similar circumstances in your
case. -
We're with you, momand2kids, and hoping for the same sort of situation ben50 describes!

Dear all
I have been diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer-- I am so very upset about this... please send good thoughts.
-
So sorry you have to deal with this . Prayers are with you. I'll post this in case it brings you any marginal level of comfort and forgive me if it's not what you need right now -- but a quick Google search on papillary thyroid cancer says: "The overall cure rate is very high (near 100% for small lesions in young patients)."
Sounds extremely treatable!

I am so very sorry. As ben50 stated above and as my endocrinologist stated, this type of cancer is very curable. I have also heard that the surgery is not too big a deal either. I in no way want to minimize your fear and anxiety, just trying to find words that may provide some relief. It is terrible to receive another C dx, but if you had to, this is the one that you would want. That is also the words of my girlfriend's mother's endocrinologist after her dx. But it does stink and I am so sorry.

mom
I am so sorry! Big hugs to you!
Take comfort in the fact that it is very treatable.
We are all here for you.

Hi all,
just wanted you to know that I am posting my updates in the ILC section-- would love to have you join over there.... just easier to keep them in one place.....
but for now--meet with surgeon on 6/25 expect surgery in late July--- expect it to be fully curable since that is what every single person is saying.....
