regular shaped lump in underarm

Options

Hi, I had lumpectomy and full axillary lymph node removal in 2010. Also had chemo and rads.

Today, I have had a slightly painful swelling in my armpit on the same side; dimensions approximately 2 inches long by 1/2 inch wide; rectangular shape. My under arm feels slightly swollen and the area is slightly red.

What are the chances this is cancer?

I would go get it checked out.  I don't want to scare you, but I felt something odd on the scar tissue, went to my PS, he said it was scar tissue, but it felt different so I went to BS, she needle biopsied it just to make sure it was nothing, and it turned out to be something.  I am at that scared to death of everything stage so I am telling everyone, if something doesn't feel right, get it checked out. I'm sure its nothing on you but if you are concerned, do not hesitate to have it looked at, just so you have peace of mind.

Update - I had a thorough ultrasound of armpit, upper arm and breast 10 days ago and nothing unusual could be seen.

I still have the rectangular shaped area that is slightly raised, slightly pink and follows the diagonal of the centre armpit.

Doctor has recommended another ultrasound and referred me back to my surgeon.

hi racy! I remember you from our chemo days, I think we both did tac x 6.  I have developed a small round lump under my node dissection arm.  Surgeon said it was maybe scar tissue, ultrasound was more concerning so biopsy tomorrow.  Scared to death!
