Have a surgery date

edited June 2014 in Living Without Reconstruction After a Mastectomy

I met with my surgeon this morning and we scheduled my BMX and port removal. My last chemo is on Monday, and I'm ready to move on to the next step. He was very supportive of me not wanting to reconstruct, but did add that in the future it would be an option. I'm looking forward to getting this part over with and hopefully moving on with life! Anyone have any favorite tidbits of advice for heading into a BMX?

    belleb - I'm sure the gals here will have some great tips but for more info hop on over to the Surgery section - there are many great threads on preparing for surgery (wish I'd found it before mine!) and you can join a group all having surgery the same month - it is wonderful to chat with so many others all going through it at the same time, exchange tips and vent if needed in a place where everyone totally gets it.
