Republicans Are Already Handing The White House To Hillary Clinton

One of the most true, bipartisan rules of American politics is this: When the other guy is doing your dirty work for you, let them.

There are groups of varying competence on the left already pushing a Clinton presidential run, but none of them has done as much work for a possible Clinton 2016 campaign as the right.

The best example so far has been Karl Rove. Rove has this reputation on left and right for being a political genius, but the reality is he had to get in the gutter to beat McCain in 2000, lost the popular vote to Gore in 2000, and was one state away from President Kerry. In addition he advised Bush through a series of historical screwups, including the attempted privatization of Social Security, the botched response to Katrina and the incompetent handling of the Iraq War.

Oh, and he helped to stimulate the economy in 2012 by spending the money of Republican billionaires and millionaires on poorly designed campaign ads in unwinnable states.

Rove added to his pantheon of failure with his hamhanded attempt to inject a "Hillary Clinton brain damage" storyline in the press. What he ended up doing is launching the first of I suspect thousands of Republican attacks on Clinton that result in her getting a sympathetic ear from prospective voters. The attack was rejected by Democrats, as can be expected, but a vast majority of Independents and a slight majority of even Republicans said the attack was out of bounds.

At the national level for 22 years now, conservatives have seen red at the sight of Hillary Clinton. Even when their ire was directed at her husband, they really really hated her.

And when they attack her they always go overboard, and it has the added effect of nudging Democrats who may not be her biggest fans (me!) into her corner. She drives Rush Limbaugh, Fox News, and Congressional Republicans insane – it’s hard not to like that.

We are two years away from the presidential election, and Hillary Clinton not only lives rent-free in the conservative psyche (especially among misogynist males) but she has built an entire 200 unit condominium development there.

And they can’t stop themselves. And they have so long to go

They’re giving it away to her. Already.

Hi Everybody,

Quiet around here this afternoon.  I forgot it was Friday ... feels like a Saturday.  I ran some errands and walked the dogs, and that's about it for today.

Jackie .. you must be exhausted.  Sure hope they can get your DH squared away.  It sounds like he's in a good hospital.  We had a little rain last night, not enough to really do much good.  Just brought the humidity up.

Carrots ... have no idea why dogs yawn when they wake up. I had a wicked case of the yawns yesterday on the way back from Danville.  Sometimes I think my yawning might be related to anxiety.  Who knows .....

Sunnyflowers ... I'm with you.  If I can't nap for an hour, I don't bother with it.  It's been a very long time since I took a nap.  I remember napping for two hours at a stretch every day when I was getting radiation treatments.  It was the only way I could get through the day.  I had a lot more clients back then, so I was grateful I was working at home.

I think being old is okay.  I'm a little nervous about hitting 60 though.

Bren - turning 60 was weird - but the sun came out the next day - I'll be 62 this year - eeek

Ah....dh should be discharged to home this evening.  That will take my stress level down a notch or two.  Back to the steam mop in the kitchen.  Life is going on.

There's been rain for the past 4 days off and on.  The grass is now 6 inches tall and we can't mow because our mower is in the shop.    It will take my DH 6 or more hours to mow our 2.5 acres where normally it takes about 3 hours.  I hope it's ready Monday. 

Bren, Congrats on your anniversary

Jackie, My DH had a stones in his gall bladder and his laparoscopic surgery went so well, he doesn't even have scars.  Best wishes for your DH.  The VA has excellent doctors and nurses but the administration people need a good shake up.

Catching up:

On turning 60 - it's just a number.  I remember my Dad was out playing 18 holes of golf when my sister called him to commiserate for his turning 60.  He said that he was feeling great until she called.

It was worse anticipating than happening.  I'm 62 now and don't feel old.  Except sometimes.

Been a nice cool day here.  Was a good day to mow, except I just didn't have it in me.  Maybe tomorrow.

Jackie .. Glad to hear DH is home.  Hope he's feeling okay.

Blue .. Love the pictures!  Your garden is so pretty.  Nice to see Ray of Sunshine again too.  Wendel doesn't seem too interested in Dahlia's birthday!  He's such a character.  I tried to clean up the garden area by my pergola ... needs to be weedwacked and a few flowers added as well.  Just haven't been in a gardening state of mind lately.  Thanks for sharing the pic's with us.
