Herceptin in conjunction with Radiation

Hi I meet with my RO on the 27th, not sure yet when I start or what the actual plan will be. I have a question re getting herceptin infusions the same time as rads. Has anybody done this, and do you do both on the same day, or will your RO allow you a "day off"? My MO says definitely no days off for radiation, but I've read on other threads that some people have skipped days . I don't see how I can do both on the same day, it's just too much !!!!!

    Deblc, My Herceptin is every three weeks, so I had two radiation appointments that overlapped. The first one I had both treatments on the same day. The second one, I skipped the Herceptin. I didn't skip due to problems with treatment, but skipped because of logistics. My radiation facility was 40 miles from my infusion center. Hopefully someone else will be along to give their experience. Best wishes!

    I had my regular infustions of Herceptin when I was going thru radiation.  Its a standard protocol, I think.

    Slowdeepbreath, how did you feel after getting both on the same day? Which did you do first? Also, when you skipped the herceptin, did you have to get a "loading dose" again the next time you went ?(which is what my MO told me would happen if I missed a treatment). Thanks!

    Other than really tired from the drive, I felt fine. They gave me my regular infusion six weeks later. They didn't change anything.

    Edited to say: This is the dose I get each time.

    Trastuzumab IVPB 402.6 mg (HERCEPTIN)

    Deblc, I had radiation in the morning and I'm sure I had Herceptin a few hours later.  I really didn't notice any difference.  I was lucky because I had rads and chemo  in the same hospital.
