Nipple prosthetics

I tried searching for this topic without great success, so I apologize if this has already been done and discussed.  One of my surgeons recommended Naturally Impressive for a nipple prosthesis after my reconstruction is complete.  I'm not sure yet if I want nipple construction done, but the prosthesis can be worn with or without nipple reconstruction or tattooing underneath.  Has anyone bought a nipple prosthesis, either from Naturally Impressive or any other company?  Thoughts?

They had samples in the surgeon's office and they felt pretty realistic and look pretty good, but the web site doesn't show a ton of options and I'm not sure I'm seeing exactly what I would like.

I have already spoken with the people at Naturally Impressive.  But I am wondering about anyone's experience with the actual prosthetic?  How it looks and feels to them, etc.  Or if anyone has dealt with any other nipple prosthetic out there?

Amoena do a really nice very fine silicone, in 3 sizes and in 3 colors. They're very realistic and inexpensive.

Dumb question, but how do they adhere to the reconstructed breast? Do you have to apply them every morning like any other prothesis? I am looking to get the tattoos done in New Orleans, 2015 but did not know about prosthetics??

I have not visited any websites on this.

    Thanks,

    Julie

    hey Julie

Those prosthetic use medical adhesive which hold for about a week or so.

to my opinion prosthetic are better and more realistic than tattooing  or even a nipple reconstruction surgery (which eventually fails many times).

PM me if you need more information.

Have any of you had insurance pay for nipple prothesis from pink perfect? She is based in Isreal and has no US tax payer ID. Federal BC/BS is saying they won't....

I got mine from Amoena way back in 2010 and insurance covered it.  Only 2 sizes to pick from then-- either small or large and only 2 colors.  Eventually I got brave enough to get 3D tattoos.  Happy with the results but still put on the prosthesis for "special" evenings with DH  ;)

Waving hello to you, Heidi....long time no see.

    Heidi

Did you ever get BCBS to cover the nipples?  I have federal coverage as well as was thinking about switching from United to BCBS.
