Vulgarity ahead....you may want to skip my post.

Although there are some very informative articles in this magazine, I can't even begin to tell you how much the name of it bugs me. Whenever I see it on the table in the waiting room, I want to barf. There is no cure, probably never will be a cure and attaching that word to a cancer magazine containg info about bc, just bugs the ever-loving piss out of me. I can't even bring myself to touch it to move it around the table. How nuts is that?

Reminds me of the time the nurse handed me this overtly decorated pink brocade book supplied by the pharma company, containing info and a survey about Herceptin. I instantly lost my shit and just wanted to set it on fire. Nurse totally understood btw, and couldn't believe they had to hand this ridiculous thing to patients.

Bad day, I think, 'cos normally I wouldn't let a benign, very helpful post get under my skin. Sorry cp.

    Cure....pffft!

leggo - totally respect and get where you are coming from.  I've let loose on a (quite) a few times too.  I think many of the links and news we post here are more useful than this publication.  Next time I'll look closer and see if there actually is anything useful in it before posting.  Hugs to you.

Oh cp, I'm so sorry and I feel bad for ranting. I in no way meant to trivialize your post.  EVERYTHING you post is always useful and I appreciate every single one of them. It's just the name of that magazine!

leggo - PLEASE do not apologize!!  I agree with you!!!!

We just had a local Community Wellness Center (non-profit) close after only 6 years due to lack of funding/donations.  They offered free counseling to numerous types of cancer patients for support, nutrition, insurance issues, exercise, reading groups, and more.  It makes me so disgusted when I read about an insurance CEO raking in $30 million salary and then the politics behind pharmaceutical companies for profits.  I read about the large number of breast cancer patients who have lost their jobs post-treatments or can no longer work, while organizations plead with breast cancer patients for money -- like we haven't given enough already.......
