Weesa - you are more than 11 years out from DX !!  I just read your stats and realized that !!  Gives us all a BIG wave of hope to surf on !  Anyway so glad nothing wrong with your heart.  I had the muga scan before chemo as standard procedure, just had a helluva time with trying to get an IV started !

Oh, yeah, I am definitely becoming one of the senior members of this group, one of the oldest rats in the stage 3 barn, I am fond of saying. (Actually, Shelly, our stats are similar, just noticed.)  I like to disseminate hope here when I can. Besides having a gargantuan tumor, I had pretty big tumors around lymph nodes and a Ki-67 that was so high it flabbergasted my usually calm onc.

To make matters worse, I am not exactly the poster girl for clean livin'.It is my hope that I can continue to provide hope off and on here.

It was pretty lonely out here in 2002. I did not know any other stage 3's and I don't think this web site was up and running yet. I joined a support group of women who it turned out were all stage 1's and  I freaked them out too badly and left. So, I enjoy immensely being a source of hope here. And enjoy cracking everybody up one in a while. Weesa

Yay weesa! And yes, I do love it when you're funny but you don't have to be that way all the time (especially when you're in the throes of a hangover!). I also got the MUGA prior to my first chemo, but frequently wondered why they never repeated it after I was done to check for any damage inflicted - guess they figured it was a done deal by that time so what was the point.

Let's keep these hearts beating for a LOOOONG time, shall we?!

Weesa :  Yep our stats are very similar so I really appreciate your opinions and views !  Some days it feels like a magnet drawing me down to the dark places but then I read your funny posts -- you're a hoot!

Sugarplum:  Almost three years after treatment, there was a mobile "lab" for a reduced fee people could have vascular system & carotid arteries and aorta checked, so I did.  If you had your doc order all those tests it would cost you (or insurance) a few thousand I would imagine.  If there's a program like that in your area, it might be worth doing.  It only cost me $50.

Well, I'm actually scheduled for hip replacement surgery in October (courtesy of Arimidex - AND my mom's genes!), so they will be running all the standard pre-op cardio tests on me then. I don't know how I've become such a wimp after all I went through 8 years ago, but I'm scared to death of this one....!
