Woohoo for good changes!, Jenn! TGIF....for me it doesn't mean much-not working-but play time with grandkids & baseball! Love to all!
-
Hello to all my Diep sisters! I logged in to catch up and it's so wonderful to her everyone is doing well. I'm always encouraged by how strong you all are, even when dealing with old or new issues. I have been feeling almost normal, and there are now days when I don't think about it much. I still haven't gotten my appt with Vinnie and need to get on his schedule eventually. I am working too hard but we're enjoying spring and tball with my now 5 yo. He is a constant source of joy!
The sad news is that I've also been caring for my dear dad who was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer about 6 weeks ago, and his wife who weeks earlier had a mastectomy. On top of that, we lost my uncle to lung cancer last month, and another uncle just got diagnosed with prostate cancer. So in the past couple of years, our family has had more than our share of cancer. Funny thing is that it's simply part of life now. We just keep taking one step at a time and appreciate what we have in this moment.
I am always wishing each of you peace and health and happiness on this journey! Enjoy the spring!
-
cg...sending my love & prayers for you, your dearest Dad, his wife & all your loved ones. Special prayers Dad will have long, cherished time on earth!
I'm so happy to hear you're feeling normal...especially as I'm sure you're the light of so many lives
. We're at coach pitch with our 5.5 yr old grandson on Saturdays & it's also the best of fun! Truly live for joyful times & that centers around family!
I've been doing pt for my diastasis & it's working! I also have those moments I forget diep-finally! I think Vinnie's work looks awesome. I can't do anything due to mets but if I could, it'd be that!
So glad your hard winter is over...sunny skies from now on! Happy Mother's Day to the Mamas of 2 & 4 legged creatures! Love you All XOXO

A car accident back in April damaged Righty so it was replaced on 6/24. PS found most of the spots where it was stitched to me were pulled, the TE itself was damaged and would leak if the right pressure was put on it. All that from a seat belt! It was a blessing the airbags didn't deploy or both sides would have been seriously torn up. It is bothersome on the other hand that although the airbag lights came on, none deployed.
-
gosh Galsal. I am so sorry to hear you had to go through that. wishing you comfort and sending warm and gentle hugs
-
galsal, hope you're hanging in there. So sorry to hear about the accident.
Thanks for the support ronniekay. I hope you are running circles around those grand kids! :-)
Dad is a trooper but has had progressive disease. He wanted to try more chemo this month, so we take it a day at a time. It's hard to believe he feels as well as he does which is a blessing.
Hope everyone else is doing ok! I just celebrated my 2 yr anniversary post dx. Hard to believe!
Hugs to all of you!

Hi cg. I just happen to be on here asking the girls in lung mets questions as my mom has pleural effusion and saw you are going through a parent with cancer too? Unfortunately, my Mom appears to be advanced so just palliative care. On my way home soon to be with her. Just wanted to give you a hug and let you know I can sympathize. Torture.
I am still on surgery hiatus but will need reinforcement of my stomach due to bulges and I want my girls reduced. I don't like having big boobs, in fact, I think I hate boobs in general now :-/ hopefully I will lose weight and be able to have surgery by summer. Thinking of you all!!
-
Rebecca, so sorry to hear that. Dad is palliative too. It's tough. I'll be thinking of you and hope you have a little more good time with your mom.
Hope you can take care of yourself too. Big hugs to you!
-
Beckers & cg...I'm sad that you're seeing your parents have to go through this tough, emotional journey, but I know you're both sources of love & support. I lost my mom to lung/liver C...17 days from dx to the end. She was 71....so young. I'm thinking & praying for healing (a couple miracles would be great), strength & peace. Love you gals!
Beckers....do they say what your bulges are? Mine was the diastasis and I plan to write a letter to my ps, suggesting he do ultrasound when his peeps have bulges like mine. He kept saying it was fascia tearing & he's right in that when on chemo, I can't have it repaired, but with diastasis, strengthening core is vital! Instead, he told me no stomach exercise, etc. the exact opposite of what I should've done. Alas....I'm living thru chemo quite well but my stomach is a daily irritant. Sorry to vent. I'm wishing you healing & boobs are a good thing
Off to lunch with friends but you're on my mind, dear friends!
-
How is it October already?! Beckers, I've been thinking of you. How is your mom? I can't believe Dad is still holding up with his lung cancer, although he is down to 145 lbs and we get news on scans next week. He had gamma knife for a brain tumor last month, but hasn't had chemo for 2 months. He's not out of bed much lately, but he is a trooper.
I'm not a fan of my bigger girls either, although they still look pretty good. I just can't find many bras that fit..theres always a gap in the center where I'm flat. Still doing my stretches for abs and back...2 years post-surgery this month!
Thanks Ronnie Kay for always being your sweet self. I'm sorry about your mom too, but I hope you are feeling good for a long, long time!
-
Cg...hi there! Thinking of you & sending love to your dad.... He is a trooper and I say you're on this earth as long as you're intended!
My stomach still has lumps & my boobs aren't as big as they could be but
.
I hate the blobs in the crease between underarm & boob. I didn't have it before. Its like more of a defined area now. OH well....enough complaining from me.../ til next time! Doing well here...txt is keeping liver working! Youngest grand baby is 1 next week....wondered if I'd get to see her, now I babysit Monday & Tues and next to mom....I'm her fav! Love to you and yours!!!
-
Hi girls. My Mom is at the end. Only a few days left. It's been so hard. I will be back eventually. Hope you all are well.
-
My prayers, dear friend. Peace to all...love you.
-
Thank you Ronnie. We lost Mom Oct. 9th. :-(
-
I'm sorry...sending love and hope that your heart heals. Can't help but think she was amazed at the beauty & strength of her daughter. Another angel to guide us all
-
Beckers, I'm so sorry. How lucky she was to have you caring for you and to also leave this earth knowing her sweet daughter is well. I'm sure you were a great comfort to her and I hope your memories of her will all be good ones. Hugs to you!
We lost dad over the weekend. It was a gift to see how my brother gently cared for him when we were together. He was well loved by both of us. It's a tough road, but we try to keep only the positive in our hearts.
Love to all our Diep sisters over this holiday season!
-
cg...I have faith your Dad is strong again and although I know you & yours must be so terribly lonesome without him, the love and care you gave him surely gives you peace. I love that your seeing your brother's tender care warmed your heart. If I'm remembering correctly...you have littles that also are figuring out about the circle of life...prayers for all.
An fyi...I have a new onc that has decided since I'm stable, after 22 months on chemo, that it's time to see if I can go off that and just do hercep/perjeta/femara. I'm so happy to start feeling stronger & not have the ses, but am nervous....but am living life....love to my diep sisters!
-
Cg, I am so sorry about the loss of your father. It is so very difficult. Especially during the holidays I am sure. I am not having a traditional. Thanksgiving tomorrow. Just not feeling it this year. Just know you are in my thoughts.
Ronnie, I will say a prayer for you. I hope so much this is it and no more chemo will ever be needed. Are you going to stay on AI's then? Are there many SE's? I am not taking them. I didn't tolerate Tami well and just hit a brick wall. I am afraid so what other problems they may cause. Hope I'm not sorry.
Well, hope you all have a happy. Thanksgiving.
