Possible after recent lumpectomy and radiation???

I was diagnosed with DCIS in Sept 2013. I had a lumpectomy in October, and did 31 radiation treatments, which I completed on January 6, 2014. About a week or two ago, I started to have some pain, which I thought was just muscle pain from the radiation and due to the fact that I had started exercising again. The pain is not really under by arm, but along the side of my breast. I also started to have a lot of itching. A few days ago, I noticed that I have what look like dots that go into my skin approximately a half inch apart, almost like someone measured them. I guess my question is, could it possibly be IBC? I had an MRI before my lumpectomy, and just don't want to imagine that this could even be a possibility after them doing a mammogram, biopsy, MRI, surgery and radiation so recently.

Call your DR.  Only they can tell you what is going on - no one here can DX you or anyone.

'Anything' is possible.   IBC is rare (only 1% - 5% of all DXd BC).  It is much rarer to developed after another type but possible.  There are MANY other possibilities that are much more likely though. I obviously not a medical person seeing you but from your ddescription - doesn't sound like IBC.

Faith316 who comes here was originally DXd IDC and then later also IBC.  If you scroll down a few threads you will find a recent one that also asks about IBC after another DX and Faith posted there.

See your Dr to find out what is going on sooner rather than later.  IF in the unlikely case that IBC has raised its ugly head, time is of the utmost importance.

As Kicks said above, it is very unlikely but it can happen.  It happened to me.  You can read a little about my history in my signature below.  The good news is that even if it would turn out to be IBC, doesn't mean you can't beat it.  So far, I continue to be NED (no evidence of disease).  Please keep us posted.
