From RO to MO, how long in between?

This might have been covered somewhere before but I couldn't find anything while I was poking around.

I had  lump in March, and will be finishing up rads this week (yippeeeeeeeee!). My next stop on this Train is to see an RO for hormone therapy. How long did you wait either by choice or not before you saw an RO? I know anyone who has had chemo already has seen an RO but thankfully, I didn't need chemo. I am obviously feeling kind of done with drs, but I know if I let making an appt slide, I'll never make it.

Does it make a difference, typically, to give yourself a break to recuperate before you start HT?

I think we are all kind of cancer-fuzzy.  You seem to be mixing ROs (Radiation Oncologists) with MOs (Medical Oncologists, a/k/a chemo and other drugs doctor.

I met with my MO before ending the Rads...and she helped me create my full plan really.  I ended rads the Fri before Xmas.  Not remembering when I saw the MO but do remember her giving me a free sample of the Hormone pills with the instruction to begin them after the holiday.  So it must have been very close...I wasn't sure which holiday she meant but I took my first pill on NYEve

I met with the MO before starting rads - I think it was around the same time I was doing the planning sessions.   He then wrote a prescription for Tamoxifen, told me to start it 4 weeks after finishing rads and to come back and see him after having been on it for 4 weeks.   Since then I've seen him every 6 months.

there is no 'One Size Fits All' when it comes to DX or TX.  We are each so unique.  Our Drs are each unique also.

I did 4 DD A/C neoadjuvant followed 2 weeks later with UMX.  3 weeks after surgery, I started 12 weekly Taxol adjuvant.  A wwek after last Taxol, I started rads and a week after starting rads, I started Femara.

No one here can know anything about what is best for you - that's between you and your dr.
