Scared

Hi I am 35 years old and was diagnosed with LCIS this week. I have an MRI scheduled for Tuesday. I found a lump in my breast and I for sure have some lymph node involvement (both the lump and lymph node were biopsied). I haven't been staged yet and I am so scared that I am beyond treatable. Did anyone else find theirs via a lump? The MRI scares me because I am concerned that with the slow growing nature of the disease the fact that I found a lump and that it is in my lymph nodes may mean it has spread. I just looking for some words of wisdom or someone who can relate.

I'm sorry you find yourself here and are scared.

Cherybery, Were you diagnosed with invasive lobular or ductal cancer along with LCIS? I'm confused by your post because LCIS doesn't spread so it doesn't go to your lymph nodes. LCIS is just treated as a condition that increases your risk for going on to develop breast cancer, not cancer.

Are you having the MRI after a needle biopsy but before an excisional biopsy?

I had an enlarged axial lymph node when I was going through testing, but the doc told me she'd be surprised if it amounted to anything and it was, in fact, benign when biopsied.

I'm also confused as to your diagnosis.  Did they tell you that you had invasive bc (ILC or IDC)? or that you had positive lymph nodes?
